I am in Newnan, Ga. I have fished almost every creek, pond, lake, or stream in my area and nearby. Depending on the season and place you go around here, you will either have a great day or an ok day of fishing. One thing is for sure, you will catch some bass around these parts!! |

Lawrenceville, GA here, been a lifer since 1996. Fish mostly Lake Hartwell, Tribble Mill and some north Georgia streams. Don't get to do as much fishing as I'd like, but anytime you can get out on the water is a good time.

Just came in from the lake--nice breeze to relieve some of the heat. On the eve of the Fourth of July I want to say a special THANK YOU! to all those men and women who wear the uniform of our nation and keep us safe and free. God bless each and everyone of you! Join me in saying a special prayer for these men, women, and their families. God thank you for a wonderful place to live, the home of the brave and the land of the free. Watch over all of our troops both at home and in those foreign countries. Bring them home safely to enjoy once again the things we so often take for granted. And God bring a solution to the oil spilling into the Gulf area. Amen. Uncle Tom

I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country. |

Only been a member a short while. Does anyone know of a Ga. club or chapter? If not I like the idea of starting one--very few states have the range of fishing most of us enjoy--from trout streams in the mountains to inshore and offshore fishing along our coast line, from large reservoirs to small lakes and ponds, from great rivers to little creeks, from lakes to small ponds, from pristine pools to cypress swamps-- FISHING IN GEORGIA IS GREAT! Likewise, the state is so big it would be hard to meet very often because of the length of travel. Would be nice to have our own chapter and get to know one another better. Share ideas or tales. I would be interested. Drop a post to Georgia forum and let's give it a try. Share your ideas and thoughts. Uncle Tom Hey, you guys in the home office got any directions? |

Hey Klombard1! Welcome to beautiful Coastal Georgia! The home of the brave and the land of the free or should I say Ft. Stewart, Hunter Army Air Base, & KingBay Submarine Base. There's great fishing on Ft. Stewart--some of the best bass & crappie fishing anywhere. Rivers abound that are full of fish. One runs through the middle of Ft. Stewart. Hunter & Savannah are on the coast. Georgia is blessed with a number of barrier islands that produce great fishing. I think it was the Navy that built all those bombing towers off shore that offer great fishing for King Mackerel, Amber jack, etc. Bottom fishing is a little slow because of new regulations hindering great fishing. August and September produce huge silver bullets often referred to as Tarpon!! If you can't find anything else to do Coastal Georgia is the breeding ground for many shark. I don't know if there are any shrimp any better than Wild Georgia Shrimp which you can catch with cast net or buy off the shrimp boats. Where else can you get good bait and eat what's left? I live about half way between Ft Stewart and Hunter on 10 acre lake and would be glad to have you over to fish. Uncle Tom Forget about the alligators, rattle snakes, mosquitoes, and sand knats--THEY ARE FREE! Looking forward to meeting one of America's Finest!

Uncle Tom, I'm in for getting a chapter going however I know absolutely NUTHIN' about how to start one. So far I haven't seen very many enthusiastic Georgians on the boards. Wish we could juice things up a little!!! I'm north of Atlanta. Seems like the few that are here are spread out all over Ga. If we COULD get something going, seems like middle Ga would be the place to meet....Macon/Warner Robins area...would that work for you?? I'm thinkin about going to the meet in Wis next year, would like to get a group of us to go and represent Ga. Everyone think about going with me!!!! Uncle Tom, I'm sure we could figure out any accomodations/special need you might have if you were interested.......THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT...but the thought is strong!!! Suggestions and comments are welcome!!!! Greg |

Wgriffin, sounds like a good idea to start a chapter, but I don't know how? Middle Georgia would be a great place to get together. My Dad and Son live in that area and I am very familiar with it. I would very much like to be a part of your group going up North next year. Uncle Tom How bout the rest of you Georgia Boys?

OK! HERE WE GO! YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE FELLOWSHIP OF GEORGIA FISHERMAN OF NAFC. The meeting will begin in the parking lot of Bass Pro Shop in Macon, Georgia on the first Saturday in December, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In looking back through some previous posts listed were these names: wgriffin1, klombard1, thestram, bassfisher, murphy186, sentrysam, f.gilmer, erik145, hutt4888, hauntedhillbilly, petergajda, Jason6969, sharpshooter, snakebgtemke, Bugman, countryboy8, Uncle Tom. I am sure there are others but these were all I could find. Please let other GA. fishermen know about the meeting. If you have a friend who is not a member this would be a good time to invite them. Thestram, shoot me an email at wggrif@aol.com I'll send you my tel. # and we can see about hooking up sometime to fish.....if you would like to. Thanks for the heads up on Stamp Creek. I usually put in there and head over to McKasky (?? on that spelling) or over across from Galts Ferry. I just got back into fishing after a 35 year break from it.....so I'm basicly starting all over again. I'm also looking forward to the "Chapter" meeting in Dec.... Really hoping we can get something off the ground!!! Greg |
