I am relatively new to the Savannah area (Port Wentworth) and am in the process of "re-learning" how to fish.  As with a lot of people my age (39), the last 20 yrs have been devoted to work, children, more work, and the occasional adult beverages with my friends.  I know next to nothing of the waters around here save for the fact that I used to be a regular fisher from the pier at North Myrtle Beach yrs ago when my dad owned a condo there.  He sold the condo and Hugo took care of the pier.  I lived in NC for yrs and would occasionally hit the odd pond here and there but never seemed to make the time to go as often as I'd like.

I've been living in Port Wentworth for nearly 4 yrs now and have only tried fishing from the bank (I don't own a boat) over at the local marina to no avail.  I'm not really sure of what to fish for or what to use or how to use it.  Sad thing is that I have a large tackle box filled with lures, hooks, etc. that I've either bought over the years or were given to me and I would really love to learn exactly how and when to use them.  As well, I have a lot of friends down at Tybee Island but still have not made my way down there to fish as of yet.  I would love nothing more than to have someone a bit familiar with the waters around here who can help me re-learn what I've forgotten and teach me even more.  I can be reached direct at mauricespagnola@yahoo.com and would love to hear from you if you'd like to plan a trip sometime and help teach me something of fishing this area.

I live in the Pt. Wentworth area also. I do a lot of bass fishing in the Savannah river if someone wants to go. I will be busy for the next couple of weekends but can go after that. Ya'll should check out Ft. Stewart for some freshwater bank fishing nearby. I think the yearly pass is about $20 and you have access to ponds, canoochee, and ogeechee river.
