Camden County and all of Coastal Georgia is great fishing for Reds. If you are putting in at Crooked River or St. Mary's try the North Jetties out of Fernandina and the back side of Cumberland Island. Look for oyster beds and marshland creeks draining back into river on tidal water. All of coastal Georgia is great Red fishing as well as speckled trout, strippers, flounder, whiting and later as summer progresses great tarpon fishing. Offshore, it is not terribly far to gulf stream. Let me suggest you look up some local guides who will save you money to begin with. Don't give up, once you learn your way around, you will not regret any time spent fishing. Biggest problem it is one of the largest breeding grounds for shark anywhere. Great fishing and take a kid or two with you. Uncle Tom |
