Hello, I'm new to this site as of...well today... anyways - I live in the St. Ray's area of Joliet, and have been looking for a couple different fishing spots. so far I've hit up turtle lake (budde lake?) whichever you're able to fish in - and been mostly skunked (my daughter did pull in 3 or 4 bluegill though).... I've also hit up the new pond by the new Plainfield Administration building (off of 126 by Larry's Diner) - pulled in tons of pond weed, and I think that might be all that's there... I've gone to the backside of McKenna woods (off of Frontage road by Caton Farm road) - fed some bluegill, but didn't catch a thing... and then I went down to Lily Cache and Caton Farm and tried fishing the Duper under the bridge - snag heaven (I must have pulled in 10 logs)... so - I'm looking for a place to fish regularly on the weekends, my next two spots to try are both on Black Road on either side of I-55 - can't remember the name of either place - but they are both Will County Forest Preserves, which means they close at dusk - which is fine on the weekends, but if I want to go during the week, I need somewhere that doesn't close at dusk... I get home around 7, and after doing stuff with the kids and such, I'd like to go out fishing - but that isn't till around 8:30... so...I'm looking for a regular spot to fish, as well as a spot to go at night... any suggestions?
