Any good fishing in Northern Illinois?

Hey everyone, Well Labor Day weekend is coming up and I'm looking to take my boat out to catch some bass for a few days. I live in the Aurora area and was wondering if there were any lakes close by (since gas for my boat and truck is killing me).

I have fished 2 northern illinois fisheries including Pierce Lake at rock cut state park and Lake Marie on the Fox Chain. But those 2 lakes are very murky and have given me few fish. Walleye. SCREAMIN DRAGS TO ALL!!!
