Great ride!!!!!! Left Kansas on Aug.1 and got home late in the afternoon on the 10th. I know I hurt my big Honda's feelings but I rode my hopped up Harley on this trip. My young son wanted to go too but I think he needs to age a bit before I take him to Sturgis.

We met some friends at the SideHack Saloon in downtown Strugis and it's probably good that we left a bit early after reading some of the stories that fellow bikers are posting. We had a few wild times but not as wild as they had. Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->

I caught some rock bass on a fly rod but a friend caught a nice sm bass on a spinning rig. My brother-in-law caught some rock bass on flies too but put a worm on a hook to nail a decent sm bass. Oh well, a caught fish is a fish caught. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

As soon as Allon is old enough not to snitch on Dad he'll be welcome to go. Smiler<!--graemlin::)--> Dad doesn't get into very trouble and he'd like to keep it that way. Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->

We're going to try to do some serious local fishing this fall. We'll take along a tent and sleeping bags strapped to a bike and do a few overnighters close to home. Heck we might even get to cook up a few white bass for supper. I do like those tasty little critters.

How's that big trip to the North 49th coming along?

I was really glad to have an opportunity to meet you and your new bride. Deb is a very nice gal and she certainly made a big hit with Allon. Ah heck, I liked her too. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

I would have liked to spend more time talking with you but time just seemed to slip away. My wife, Mindy, and the kids will be coming with me to the La Crosse meet next year so we'll be bringing the 5th Wheel camper. I'll see you then unless I can cut loose and make the Gwinn meet.

    Take care Papa----------------JCT

    JTC,
Did you participate inthe MS150 bicycle ride ride this past weekend in southeast Kansas? I was there doing communications and there were several Goldwing club members patroling the route looking for people needing help. Just wondering. GL

No, I have to work every other weekend but that does sound like a lot of fun. My Honda is an 1800cc VTX and I don'tknow if those Goldwinger Clubs would appreciate a big V-Twin motorcycle in their midst. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

Say hi to Kato for me GreenLantern. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->------JCT

    John,
Kato was the Green Hornet's partner. A little before my time. Those riders were a good bunch I,m sure you would have been welcome. I'm a HAM, but no bike. Good fishing to you.

Very cool and darned close to the truth Lipripper. I've been thinking about painting the Harley that color since Allon's Deet attack on my motorcycles. Big Grin<!--graemlin::D--> Big Grin<!--graemlin::D--> Big Grin<!--graemlin::D-->

    Thanks rsj and pillman,

Allon and I will be back to Gwinn either in 2008 or 2009. Allon had one heck of a good time even if he did get a little bit saddle sore. Don't be too surprised if you see that big orange motorcycle pull into Gene's fantastic cabin site next year. Smiler<!--graemlin::)-->

As far as starting up a Kansas NAFC chapter, we'll have to meet somewhere and get the ball rolling. We could compare/contrast our favorite fishing spots and decide what would interest our out of state members. We do have a lot to offer here and maybe we should share the fun.
