My Son had a freind stay the weekend and they wanted to fish. It was 54 degrees out and the wind was blowing and I didn't figuire that they would want to stay out long but I was wrong. I'll fish in a blizzard but I didn't figuire an 11 and 12 yr old would fish long because the wind was cold. We tried for bass first and caught a few so then we switched to crappie. We went to the back of the lake were there is a submerged beaver dam and hit the crappie. The fishing was better than it had been in the spring. We caught fish as fast as we could get the jigs back in the water. I hadn'tever tried to target crappie in cold weather but it sure paid off this weekend. Water level is down but not bad and the fishing was fantastic.
