The Kansas fishing weekend is coming soon, Fri. May 30 and Sat May 31. We need to have an idea of expected attendance so please RSVP with you self and number of guests you will bring. Remember this private lake has an open shelter and an outhouse but it is primitive camping. Bring a tent or sleep in the car or truck or under the stars. Some may choose to just attend Fri evening or Sat. during the day, that's up to you. Do not plan on arriving Fri. before 6:00PM as Gate will be locked. I will email directions to you once everything is finalized but the lake is in the N.E. corner of Sedgwick Co. Bring a canoe, john boat , bass buggy ,Tube or any small boat that can be launched at dirt ramp. All Kansas members or surrounding states are invited including guests. More info, including sign up for what to bring, to come later as we get an idea of attendance. |

I will check my work schedule tomorrow, saturdays I pretty much work since I'm in retail. I will see what I can work out. I might try and get Saturday off and then if I do I will have one guest or maybe two even if it will be for a few hours only. I will post tomorrow on the details.

OK we may have another 3, or not. I'll know tomorrow. SSCasteel and Miles are in it, unless something comes up and Tallcrane will check, but he thinks he has a conflict.

OK I haven't heard back from Miles, but he's asking for the day off. SSCasteel is planning on coming with me, and Tallcrane1 may be driving on his own. I sent him instructions on how to get down there. If all four of us show up, how many do you think we'll have?

Off and on throughout the weekend I am expecting 15- 20 people. Several others have expressed interest in joining a kansas based club but can't make it that weekend. |

Yeah I'm bummed that I can't attend. Seems that everything to fill up my time happened. I close Friday so no sense getting out there after work especially I will have a little girl to put to bed an hour later. Then Saturday is a store meeting at eight then I work until seven. I would have even taken my daughter. She's going to be a caster vs a worm and bobber. She's been casting her pole and doing pretty good... she did get hit in the face with her worm (no hook), but I think I will either let her use a lure that I can bury the hook and I will be right next to her. Of course no fishing for me, but it will be worth it. When she gets older mabye she will be taking me out and giving me pointers.... but I know although once she hits mid teens then it comes the boys so it will be a challenge, but she's only 3 1/2 years old now so I have some time...
I will try and catch the next meetup whenever we can figure that out. Might be more challenging for I will be getting a second job, just not making enough with my current. I don't want to since I have school and I don't want to give up any more time with my daughter, but I have some big bills to hit this year.
I will try and post when I get out somewhere and maybe someone will show up. I take the boat part of the time and then do plenty of shore fishing the other part of the time. Just depends on weather and how long I want to be out. No sense taking the boat out to fish an hour.
Take care all. Dominic

Hi krush1967, I am really looking forward to this Saturday. This is what it looks like right now. I have 3 definites. Miles, Keith, and me. Steve is worried about his ankle and doesn't think he'll be able to come, although he may change his mind.
I am planning on bringing my 14.5 alum boat, but I will try to contact you on Friday and see what the weather did. It's light enough that we could lift it and walk it in, but Keith has a canoe, and we may bring that instead if it's too muddy. See his canoe weighs 60#. It's just easier to use.
We're planning on bringing lunch and maybe some burgers to grill on Sat night. Will there be a place for a campfire or should I bring my little grill? Is there access to potable water?
Once again, thanks for organizing this. I'm really looking forward to it.
BTW could you pm your phone # so I can get in touch with you on Friday evening when I pack?

As long as we dont get anymore rain we will be ok. There is a slight chance for some more rain fri night but it is kansas, who knows certailly not the weather men. I will be there Fri evening at 6:00 to open the gate and set up. You need to bring everything that you will need. There is'nt any potable water. There is a place to have a campfire But I will bring a small grill. My phone number is 316-250-3071 Call me if you have any questions or just to say hey. PS. We are talking about having a mini tournament for anyone interested. if everyone put in $5.00 each we would have around $50.00 or more for the person who catchs the biggest fish of the weekend. |

Steve is getting checked out today. I bet he'll come. I haven't heard from Tallcrane1, he was thinking of driving down himself. How about port a potty or something, do we need to bring tp for the bio breaks? I think I get it, but I just want to ensure that everyone else does too.

I checked out the lake this morning. It's a little muddy up there but a couple days of sun and wind should fix that. The forecast looks ok slight chance of storms fri night or sat morning. The lake is above the outlet and the shorline reeds are flooded. The bass love that. The porta pottie is there and will be cleaned and ready. If anyone that is coming has a weedeater with saw blade bring it to clear bank fishing access. Otherwise bring a machette. I think Joe is bringing a generator for some lights fri night. There is some wood for a campfire. Last chance to join in, let me know, bring your friends. |

Count me in. I'm going to bring my brother, dad, and my little girl. We will be fishing from the shore. We have a bass buggy type boat, but it's not water ready. I would do some wading, but my daughter would want to go in the water too and wouldn't be fair if she couldn't do that. If anyone does bring a boat that can fit her and me and wouldn't mind taking us out for ten twenty minutes that would be wonderful. That's good about the bathroom. Us guys it's not too hard to find a tree, but a bit more difficult for a 3 1/2 year old girl. I will be driving a blue trailblazer and show up around nine or ten. I would say depending on my little girl, but many times she gets up before me.
I'm excited to meet everyone. If the lake brings a challenge with the fishing then the trip will still be wonderful since we can have faces to many of the online names.

We plan on making out sometime this weekend, just not sure Friday or Saturday. Will it be unlocked and ready sat. morning? I'm pretty sure some of you are staying out there so I'm guessing so. The wife and I will be fishing from the shore so hopefully they will bite on something we throw out. If you could send the directions I'd appreciate it and look forward to meeting you guys out there.

We have changed the dates to Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday. Gate will be open at 7:00 am Saturday morning. The lake is on North Greenwich rd Halfway Between 127th N. and 125th N. If you are on Greenwich headed north when you pass 127th you will go through a dip and then up a hill. At the top of the hill turn left through the purple posts and follow dirt lane over hill. To launch a boat off of trailer you will need to follow the second lane to the rigt at fork. There will be some small flags at entrance and at fork for boat. I will try to cut a few openings through the reeds for bank access but you should bring a machete or weedeater with saw blade if you have one to make other openings. A chainsaw might work but I havn't tried that. |

Hey Chatt, of course we miss you. I'd love to see you catch again. krush1967 says the crappies are plentiful down there esp after dark.
OK so the bank is crowded with cattails. Man o Man am I looking forward to this. It looks like it'll be 90* tomorrow and I'm bringing a swimming suit. I promise you I'll go in when it gets that hot.
