    The date is up for discussion. Either August the 21st thru the 23rd, or September 4th thru the 6th(that is labor day weekend). I'm leaning more for the August date. The location is this http://kentuckystateparks.reserveam...rkId=91917

    We will have access to the licking river, and Lake Carnico is less than 10 miles away. http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/lakecarnico.pdf

    You will find all the camping info on the first link. Are you going to be there?

    I'm going with the August date. Too much traffic and reservations with labor day.

    Do you know if they have boat rentals? I don't currently have one.

    I'm not sure. I'm trying to find some more information on both the campground, and the lake. It would be nice if they do because I dont have my boat anymore.

    That sounds like a plan to me .  I have been busy for a while  sorry I  didn't respond sooner.  I had done some searching after we last talked and actually thought about the same location.  I prefer the to do it during August, I already have plans labor day weekend.  Once we decide on a date I will try to get off work , so just let me know.  I  do have a boat but it is just a two man 10'  john boat with a trolling motor.  Keep me posted hopefully we can actually make it happen.

    Sorry I haven't been on here in some time. I have been really busy.
    I can try to make it on the August dates. Like I said a while back I can't make a 200% promise. but I will promise I will do everything I can to make it.....
    Cause in august we have the Greenup County Fair going on then right after that we have the Greenup old Fashion Days and then after that we have the Greenup County Fire Fighters Assoc. Fire School...
    lmao Like I said I have been very busy here lately. but I can try my best....

    Once again, welcome back. If you cant make it this year, there is always next year. We will have next years meet planned well in advance so that anyone who wants to go will have plenty of time to make arrangements.

    Sounds good.   Do you know if we need to reserve campsites in advance or can we just go pick one out?

    I'm sure we can probably just get one when we get there. I might go ahead and reserve one here in a couple weeks. Just to be on the safe side. I'm trying to see if my wife can take off work on August 21st. If not I will not make it down untill the 22nd, and I dont want to stay for just 1 night. Either way, I will be there.

    I called Lake Carnico boat dock, and they DO NOT have boat rentals. I'm not sure if that is the only launching spot on that lake or not. I cant seem to find any information besides what is already posted. There are a couple of ponds around that area as well. I will try to find information on them also. According to the campground website, we will have access to the Licking River. I believe they  have canoe rentals at the campground, so maybe they will have other rentals available. I'll keep searching.

    I think that we should all reserve campsites in the same loop or location that way we won't all be spread throughout the campground.  How many people are actually coming ? I think my buddy Steve will be coming with me.  I gonna try to leave here on that friday, but I don't think that check in is until like 2:00 or 3:00p.m.  Once you reserve a campsite let me know and I will try to get one close to your location.

    If I find out my wife can come with me, I will make my reservations this weekend some time. Hopefully she hears something from her work tonight. I will make reservations no later than next weekend.

    I'm still in. As of right now I will only be there the 22nd and 23rd. I'm still waiting to hear back from my wifes work to see if I can make it there on friday. The 22nd at least though. I'll let you know by the end of the week if I can be there on the 21st. I've been holding off on making reservations because I dont want to pay for 2 nights, and end up staying 1.

    BAD NEWS!  I just found out yesterday that my buddy Mike is coming home from Afganistan.  Sorry but I won't be able to come to the meet.  I want to spend some time with him before he heads back.  Sorry about the late notice but I just found out.  Hopefully someone else plans on going.  Maybe next year we can get something planned well in advance and more people will be able to come.

    No problem at all Barry. My brother in law is doing his second tour in Iraq right now, so I know how important it is to spend time with soldiers when you get the chance. I hope you guys have a great time while he's home.

    I think I'll take the family down for a night. They seem to have some family activities at the campground. You didn't ruin my plans Barry. I'm happy to hear you are getting to spend some time with a friend you haven't seen in a while.
