We have a few small lakes and ponds here in northern Ky that the department of fish and wildlife stock with catfish and trout throughout the year. They are part of the FINS program. www.fw.ky.gov Anyway. I have been trout fishing a few times in the past 3 weeks, and I've done pretty good for the most part. Last week my buddy and I caught 21 between us in about 3 hours. Too bad stocked trout have a 5 fish limit. I only caught 3 today, but I had multiple good runs. Is anyone else catching trout around the state?

I tried the same spot yesturday, but the lake was froze over.(1st time this season) I did manage to find a small hole in the ice that someone before me made. I casted into that hole, with a bobber, for about an hour with no luck. If nothing else, next weekend I will go to a smaller pond that still has the fountain running. Anyone else catching anything? I see a couple views to this post, but I'm curious to see if anyone is catching anything. Stripers? Saugeye? Apparently from what I've been hearing(not from here of corse) Saugeye have been explosive below the dams on both the Ohio and Kentucky rivers. I would like to get down to Markland soon. I also want to make it down where the Kentucky river meets the Ohio river. Thats only about a 45 minute drive for me if anyone is interested.

I couldn't get any answeres on the river, so I settled on Big Bone creek. Trout are catch and release only in there from Oct. 31st thru March 31st. I caught 2 on a small, white, Panther Martin spinner. The first one was 12 inches, and the second was around 8 inches. Obviously not big fish, but still very enjoyable. The bigger one felt like a few pounds fighting against the current. I thought I had a great one for a minute. LOL. I also stopped by Camp Ernst on my way home and caught one more small one on corn. Hopefully more people start posting updates on here. If not, I'll continue to talk to myself.

Cant even get a reply out of anger? It was worth a shot. If nothing else, I hope someone is getting useful information from Ky.
