Some buddies and I went down and only caught 2 fish, a 2lb smallmouth and a 3lb largemouth.  A 14.44lb pike won it but the place was packed.

No, I didn't make it down there but am planning to fish the Long Lake derby in St Agatha on the 30th and 31st with a couple of buddies. To win, you'll need a 8# plus salmon, 6# plus Brookie, 8# plus touge and cusk. This year, they are also paying for Muskie and perch. Sounds like fun and all together, over $8,000.00 in prizes. Do they only have one category down there? Steve

I didn't know about that derby, I'll have to look into it, it sounds like a good time.  Do you know what the entrance fee is for it?

Any of you Mainers go to the ice shanty.com web site?? Great ice fishing blogs there. Go to the Maine part.
