    I thought it would be cool to start a post of just pic of what people are catching in maryland this year.

     

    So start posting your pics of the fish you catch this year.  I would post one right now but I can't catch anything this year (I think that there is something wrong with my fishing rod  HA HA).  Hopefully after this weekend I should have at least one posted. 

     

    And for Hitman make sure the batteries are good in the camera before you go out.  HA HA

    ummmm cameras and fishing go figure who would have thought a camera would have been a good fishing tool lol  like 2 poles and 2 tackle bags and a box is not enough to carry around  not like i need a camera to lug around toooo  lol dam its good to be alive  have a great day all im going to hit the mississippi river again today mayby them dam fish will wanna come out and play today i should not feel so bad though i was talking with someone out on a boat and he said he was not doing anything either  but you know if some one does any thing they dont usually say they do unless they have a 2 footer  and wanna brag lol any ways im burning day light here and in off the the river

    Will do. I am going out Saturday with my son Nick. We are gonna hit the Monocacy and Potomac. May try the warm water discharge at Dickerson Power Plant also.

    Hello all I stopped by the Monocacy river today after work.I pull over just above the falls on Manor Woods Rd.  about 1 upstream of Buckeystown Park. Took the ultra lite with me. After a few cast I caught two smallies about 10 inches long. Yhe last  photo is of  The Beasty.I don't remember where I got these bodies but it has an 1/8 oz. head on it and it got em today at 5: 50 PM. Sorry about the Quality took em on my phone.

    nice catches there  bud glad to see every one is not sitting there stairing at a river coming up empty  things should start getting better thought april always has bben the month things start picking up

    Thanx. I caught them back to back ( after about 6 cast). I thought is as the same fish till I saw the dorsal fin on the second wasn't damaged.

    sounds like ya got yerself a lil honey hole there keep checking back on it to see if it produces more  if so dont tell  lol dont want a good thing gone bad before ya know it it will be fished out  hate when that happens to good  places

    It will be there. I noticed that it was posted as a C&R area for all large and smallmouth bass. I also saw two fly-fishermen down steam from me.below the falls. It's right on the road and My Honey Hole is only known to me and my daughter and is a "State Secret". If you are in Frederick the directions are right there for all to see. you can walk across better than 3/4 of that area so its easy to spred out if ya wanna get wet.

    ok guys i know im in arkansas now but im a southern md boy 4-ever heres what i caught today,now dats a big bluegill caught 2day in early spring on a 1/16oz grub right before i left at sundown , and the bass was on my 1st cast on a spinner bait, other than that 190 sum unsuccessful casts lol

    hey fred what it do man? ive been m.i.a. for a couple a weeks lol workin on that house and finally done and still no fishin lol but will be this week hows everything back up in the free state?

    I finally got out fishing last sunday.  I have been stuck working on the house for the past 3 weeks.  Only got to fish for about two hours but caught some nice bass.  That is the good thing about harford glen.  Can't wait till next saturday going out rock fishing.  Will post the pics.

    this year I caught a few good ones out of a pond in calvert co.heres a look hope you get the same feeling I got when I rigged a plastic salamander on a shakey head, and a buzz pro with a craw trailer

    Caught this one on Monday. It's 13" long and was caught just south of the bridge at Brunswick on a tube.

    Caught this today. What a surprise!!! I was using a 4" tube and was fishing for Smallies.
    It's 25" and 7lbs.

    Nice fish Fred! Reminded me of the time I was tossing a small swim bait (1 1/2") for crappie and tied into a 26" northern. Of course I had no net, camera or jaw spreader and was alone on the pond at the time. Tom

    Hey guys, I caught this rainbow earlier in the year on Green ridge Mtn at 15 Mile creek. There were 4 or 5 of them swimming around together, this was the biggest one and I put him back for someone else to catch after. I was just using rapala.

    Don't laugh at the camo, it works! I do substantially better when bank fishing in camo than not. On a shoreline without any growth or from a boat or dock it doesn't seem to make much difference. I also try to avoid casting a shadow on the water. Tom

    Took a trip from on the Potomac from Snyders Landing (Sharpsburg Md) to DargansBend ( Dargan Md) this past weekend. We camped in West Virginia just north of Antietam Creek. One Hell of a good time. We are already planning another one (further North in Allegany) when I get back from North Carolina in Sept.

    Yup, We found a pattern that works. This season it started rough because of the runoff but now we are catching more large fish. Good way to waste a half day.

    I went down to St. Mary's County on Friday to fish the Lower Potomac. I got down ther at 10:00PM and met my friend Rodney and his friend Dan.We fished that night until about 2:30 AM. Then we got up at 6 and hit the water in our kayaks. the final tally was
    Me: 2 Croakers (Hardhead), 1 Flounder, 11 Bluefish.
    Rodney: 2 Croakers, 1 Flounder, 6 Bluefish and 1 Bluecrab
    Dan: 2 Bluecrabs ( although they should not be counted because he caught them with his paddle and not a rod and reel.

    Hey, I had to go toOakland today and decided to head to do a lil fishin on the Yough. If you get on Liberty street in town and drive a couple miles you will see it. There's a bridge that goes over it and if you look out to your left drivin over the bridge you will see a huge rock. Even though the water is low now, that is still a good spot. I caught 2 small mouth, one was a real nice size fish too, especially being this late in the year and a spot right by the road where I'm sure everybody and their brother fishes. there was even remnants from a recent campfire there, lol. A couple years ago I caught a golden trout at the same spot. There is a dirt road(sort of) that you can walk back(DNR leaves the gate open during summer), if you follow it back you can see  the place where they measure the waterflow and levels and post it on the net. Past that, go under the railroad bridge and keep walking following the grass that's been mashed down by fourwheelers and you come to a nice deep slow moving section of the river. I've caught huge rock bass there, largemouth, smallmouth, rainbows, you name it. I didn't get to stay long, but I was checkin it out on the walk back and the water is low enough that you can see real good...I saw two huge carp, like the size of the ones you see in the potomac. Wish i would have charged my batteries, I'd have pictures! next time, I guess. BTW, I put the bass back that I caught!

    I went down to the river on Saturday. It was simply beautiful out. I knew it would be a slow day because the river rose and dropped 3' in just over 48 hrs. But I did get 3 fish.

    A Bronzeback is another name for a Smallmouth Bass. The name comes from the brownish gold color
