Congrats on the catch. Getting into a school of crappie can make a great day. Somthing about crappie make my mouth water when I catch them. The darn things look good enough to eat fresh off the line.

Only problem is i'm always hesitant to keep that first keeper sized crappie or sunfish. I feel like if I can't get a stringer of them it's not enough to keep just the one and I would hate to kill the little guy and not have enough for a meal.

this is a great maryland fishing hole in fort washington, not the park but just a lil ways from it, theres a lil spot called swan creek and its on swan creek rd just across from the marina, this time of year the crappie are big and bitin' on minnows , also a great cat fishing spot also perch and bass and a few stripers here and there , you have to park just beyond the marina on the left hand side, theres a lil trail leading to a point on the creek and if ya get there at the right time on the right tide you'll kill'em ive pulled 16" slabs outta there as well as 10lbs and up cats just google swan creek marina and get directions you wont be disapointed but if ya take 495 south to rte. 210 indian head highway toward charles county hang a right where the safeway is just past the ntb and follow it straight go round the circle and go straight 1/2 way around it thats swan point rd and about a mile up is the marina and you'll see the spot im talkin bout...hope this helps cuz if i were still in md , dc area thats where id be ......jay
may mother nature bless your line with every cast
