A few heard back, I was fishing on my buddies Jon boat in back creek, Pasadena. I was throwing blue fox spinners around a tree looking for white perch and crappie. I only had about an hour to fish before I had to go to work and it was starting to rain. I got a hit and brought in what I thought was a rockfish. Come to find out it was a 19" perch. Little did I know it would have not only been a citation but a state record. I had no idea at the time about the citation system or state records I was only 16. After I told my dad about it he gave me the bad news. From then on I have been heavily interested in state records and tryingto catch one. Any body else have a fish story???

I was fishing in the bay and hooked a pretty big fish on a sabiki rig(rig for catching baitfish with very small hooks). It took about 50 yards off my reel before a boat snagged my line and made me lose the fish. The hook was partially bent so I would have most likely lost him anyway, but it made me really excited to go back.

Never was much for citations. but I am hunting state records.

One time on Little Pax River off of Brock Bridge Rd in Laurel. I was fishing for what ever. I was standing on the bank and they had opened the damn (Brighton). The water was getting it at a good clip. I cast upstream an let my 1" grub go with the current. I was using an ultra lite. I got snagged and walked upstream about 5 paces. Then the snag shot across the river. After a good fight on a six foot ledge I hauled in an 18" Largemouth that went about 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. Shocked could not describe what I went through!!!
