Anyone been out on the ice lately? I just got a new auger for my birthday, my first, and I really want to try her out. I know there's been a week or so of above freezing temps, but I wasn't sure what that's been doin to the local ice fishing scene. Also, anyone know anything about anything farther north?

Over here in MI, the high temp. have been over the freezing point for about a week, but the low temperatures have been around 20 degrees.  I went out on the ice, and it seems that we have over a foot of ice.  How long were the temperatures below freezing?

We were below freezing for a good while, couple months, but now the ponds aren't even covered anymore. Oh well, just gotta wait till next year, I guess.

Look on the bright side, the open water season is right around the corner.  Wouldn't you rather be angling than dangling, if you know what I mean.

Haha, thats a great way to put it I guess. Can't wait for open water season, not really sure how I got through the winter mostly without an auger
