All of those fish were caught in the Marina my parents dock their boat at, Belle Maer Harbor. It's located on Lake St. Clair, right off Conger Bay Drive, In Harrison Township. You won't be able to shore fish there, but if you have a boat, hit the clinton river launch and head southeast. Look for the big red globe ion the sky!!

This past Saturday pulled out 8 largies at the Marina. Fishin still seems slow though, I need a break with all these stupid fronts on the weekends. That's really the only time I can go out.

Got a few 1 pounders and pulled out a 3 pounder on Monday. I hooked into a MONSTER, but she spit the jig. I've been using that baitcaster a lot more with my jig n pig rigs and I'm slowly falling in love with it.

On Thursday, a big ole northern hit my bait and lock-jawed on the line and gave me about a 10 second fight before the line broke. Headin out today with the old lady in hopes to catch some nice bass and maybe another pike. I hope everyone is having a good season as we're slowly going to be rolling into the fall season.

Went fishing at Silver Lake in the Pinckney Recreational Area.  Caught about a dozen Bluegill and one 3 pound bass off a deep diving Rapala.  The bass seemed to be around the drop-offs in about 8 feet of water.

Didn't bring my tackle to Chicago because we "had plenty of things planned." Big mistake. Could have fished all Saturday morning, but wasted it. I did see multiple boats out on Lake Michigan and it looked like they were all pulling in fish. I'm jealous...

Went fishing today at one of my local ponds.  Caught a 3.5 pound Largemouth Bass, a Rock Bass, a nice Warmouth Bass, around 25 Bluegill and about 6 big Golden Shiners.  I caught the Largemouth, Rock, and Warmouth Bass with a texas rigged, black plastic worm.  Hope everyone else is fortunate enough to get out and go fishing this weekend!

I was actually sight fishing in 2-3 feet of water and the thing came cruisin by. I tossed my soft plastic right in front of it and before I knew it, that thing was flailing so violently, I'm surprised it stayed on for as long as it did, haha.

Mike: I wondered what became of your Chicago trip. Every time I have left home without at least simple tackle I have regretted it. Only one time did I pack gear and not use it and that was due to weather! Tom

I just got back from the Huron River.  I didn't catch any carp or sucker.  I did catch around a dozen sunfish that I couldn't identify (species) and a little Smallmouth Bass.  I'm pretty sure I had a Northern Hog Sucker on, but it spit the bait.  I couldn't bring my cell phone to take pictures because I was wade fishing in water up to my waist and I didn't want to drown my phone.

I already checked it, Pill. Nothing was sent. I checked the GT post already, but nothing is in my inbox. Easiest way is to email me. Mike.K@salingerelectric.com

Multi, the Pike fishing went great. We hooked into 9, strung 5, but only brought home 4. The biggest pike we caught (36 inches) physically pulled open a stringer link and got off. Those cheap stringers should be discontinued. I'll post pictures later today. This is the first time I've been on the computer all weekend. That wedding Friday night really jacked me up.

fishing was slow today, but i did catch a bunch of small smallies. i had the darnest thing happen this morning. i caught a big creek chub on a #6 rapala, the lure was almost as big as the chub and he had all 3 barbs from 1 treble in his mouth.

went fishing yesterday between the storms and had a fun day....

i hooked 6 walleyes and only landed 1
caught a bunch of smallies.......even landed a couple that were so small i'm still trying to figure out how did they ever get the hook into their mouth.....they were all of 4" and not much more.

the bait that caught the most fish was the berkley gulp alive 3" minnows or leaches.......

i so allot of different widlife along the river also......
i so a river otter , walking along the edge of the river
3 bald eagles, flying around or just sitting in a big tree along the river
a couple deer that came down to get a drink of water
a flock of 5 turkeys, all toms as the were walking the trail 1 direction and i was walking the other
i even had a small black bear come down to the river about 100 or maybe 150 yards away and do a bit of fishing too

Just north of 12 Mile off of Gratiot. It gets me a little closer to 94 and a little closer to the lake, so I'm a happy man. Helpin a friend pay off her grandmother's mortgage. I'll probably be there for 2 years or so. I just applied for the US Border Patrol as well, so I'm waiting to hear back from them. Should be 10 more days or so until I go and take my written test to see if I check out alright.

Went fishing today at a local pond.  I caught a bunch of Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, and Redear Sunfish off of a dry fly I tied myself.  After a while of catching sunfish, I decided to make a few casts with my spinnerbait.  What looked to be a good sized bass short-struck it, but didn't take it.

I figured they wouldn't be too lethargic, because it was almost 70 degrees (well...at least where I was at).  The bank is extremely muddy, so it captures the heat from the sun.  All the fish I caught were warmer than my hands!   It was also pretty windy and there was a good amount of chop on the surface of the water, so a spinnerbait looked like a good option.  I probably would have caught that bass if it hadn't struck from the angle it did.

This weekend, I'm heading up to a local pond to do some big bass (big for Michigan bass) fishing with some 3 to 4 inch minnows.  I'm planning on fishing around deep structure and drop-offs.  I'll tell you how I do.

1 was a big female, going about 10lbs

it sure was somethen watching that ice fishing jig just wiggle a bit and lift up on the rod and have the tip slam back down into the water. then seeing this torpedo come shooting out of the water just a few feet from ya.

i went twice.......wed got a doz crappy in the last hr i was out on the ice--was out all day--go figure.
on thurs. the fish just weren't biting..........couple of gills and 1 crappy....it was very cold and windy thou.

had to change my mind on were i wanted to go on thrus. also, some idiot wanted to take his atv out on the ice and went thru just about 200 ft.from shore right in the middle of the path everyone takes to get out on the fishing grounds. because of the lay out of this area of this lake makes it so nobody can get out there now until it refreezes.

I threw a Mepps #4 Long out shootin for some pike, and accidentally hooked into a largie. 3 pound male, not too bad for my first soft water fish of the season.      Got out today on my new boat, went to the old honey hole and had a ball.  Caught several nothern pike, one keeper, and a dandy Smallmouth, 18.5" 3.1 lbs. Picture on profile.

The weather turned out great and was so nice to relax and catch some fish. Will begin prefishing some lakes for the upcoming bass tournaments and season. Hope everyone is getting out.

Nice Chuck! Me and a buddy got out Sunday, and pulled out 4 largies a piece. I hooked into a big ol hogger, must have been a 5 pound female, but she wiggled herself loose right at the seawall. We're hoping to go out again this weekend and pull out some more. I figure by this weekend/next week they'll be in full spawn swing. Best of luck to everyone.

I mainly fish in a few local ponds that not many people even think there's fish in.  The majority of the bigger bass I catch are from those places.  When I tell people about how good the fishing is in those ponds, people make comments like, "You fish in there!  You can't be serious!" and "Bigger fish are caught in larger lakes, not those little ponds you like to fish in!".  I know that for a fact to be wrong.   On some occasions I fish at Kent Lake (you probably know where that is) and Maltby Lake, which is in the Huron Meadows Metropark.

They're spawning where I'm at.  My dad caught a 5 pounder off a Horny Toad, along with 5 other bass, ranging from 2-4 lbs.  I wasn't so lucky, I only caught a few 2 lb. bass.

I mainly fish the southwest end of Lake St. Clair, and the past few times I've gone out, I've caught less and less bass each time. I caught 16 the first day, then 6, then 4, and the last time I went, I only pulled out two yearlings. I'm gettin frustraaaaaaaaaated.

First getting the gremlins outta my new boat, even getting it down to start it without flooding the thing.  Been out every weekend since Pike/Walley opened.  Have been slaying the smallies on the Muskegon of course catch and "immediate" release .  Have fished two tournament nights now, first week caught one fish to get on the board 1lb 8oz smallmouth on Roger Pond.  This week we fished the Muskegon River and I got two nice fish, unfortunately the first and nices (2lb 12oz) was just before the tournament started so it didn't count. Did get a 2lb 5oz in the boat to add to my season total.

Also took my son and grandson out on Lake Mecosta, some slabber rock bass out there. We all landed four or five and had a great time.  We spent last Saturday out there for about three hours, lots of fish.

Can see the pictures on my profile.

Going out this weekend, Bass opener finally. Going to hit Chippewa Lake, probably Monday, to pre fish it for the tournament next week. Will most likely go out on Hardy Pond tomorrow morning to fish it before all the "boater" get out and wreck the fishing.

Hope every one gets out and lands some nice fish.  If you near or passing by Big Rapids give me a shout and maybe we can drop a line, I know lots of good spots and my boat is ready to go.

I've heard from people located all around Lake St. Clair that they've been having troubles out on the lake. I haven't been pulling out nearly as much as I did last year. Anyone having any luck?

was on east twin lake a week ago hammered the pike caught about 30 mostly hammer handles. One nice one to enter in the campground fishing contest but got it handed to me by a young whippersnapper he landed a 32" pike which is huge for our lake and was almost and big as him lol. I did manage to catch one 18" bass even though I wasn't targeting them. Don't like to disturb them on their bed this time of year. We planted some walleye in our lake 4 years ago and I had one report of a 23" one caught last weekend. heading up for the summer friday and will get serious about fishing then. Oh yeah the guys said the walleye fishing on the saginaw river is about done but they are starting to get some fair catches in the bay. Most are launching their boats out of the linwood area.

Went out sat and had a great day cought 12 lg mouths all of wich were over 12in some crappie and countless big gills and pumpkinseeds. most of my catch was on kellys striiper purple with white stripe. cought a couple on my shalow crank . also a couple on my spinner bait> great day sept for the big one that got away. using the worm i had what i can estimate to be at least a 5 pounder had my pole almost in half and cought himself up in the weeds and then jumped 3 ft outa the water with a face full of weeds 2 ft from the boat had my buddy a rookie in the bass feild been on top of the fishing with a partner game he could netted him but wasnt ready so the big hog went back into the weeds and released himslef a foot from the boat. then the big guy jumped outa the water again just to let us have another look at him. still amazing day

Went out Monday evening after the storm and caught 7 largies. We were fishing all top water baits. I caught my biggest on a jointed rapala perch, and the numbers on a popper fishing flats. Beautiful evening, until the fish flies started mating, then it just got nasty. Hope everyone else is doin well out there.

Went fishing a few days ago at the Huron River (Hudson Mills Metropark).  Caught 3 Smallmouth (ranging from 1-3 lbs.), 5 Rock Bass (including one that was an absolute hog), and a really fat Bluegill.  I did see a Smallmouth that was probably about 4 lbs. near a snag, but he got spooked when I casted in his direction.

ya i know the feeling ihad at least a 5lber on and it got all snaged up in the weeds then jumped 3ft outa the water mouth full off weeds then duginto the weeds 2ft from the boat and got off. but the most important thing i seen that day was probably the biggest bass i ever seen he was in about 3 1/2ft of water in some weeds just hanging out i looked straight over the side of my boat and seen him he wasnt even scared of me the boat or my lure just looked and turned theres no doubt in my mind that this fish was 10 or moreno less then 24in long ya when i i head out sat im gunn take my boat away from where he was and try and make long casts in there. beleive me if i land him there will be tons of pic for all members to see. i dreamed about that fish the night i seen him oh well good luck to all on the water

Sasquatch, good to see you around again. Talked to Doc/Skycop/bill a week or so ago. he said he's doing good and to pass a big hello on to everybody. Since this is the fishing report thread, I'll say I caught a smallie that went around 4 pounds off the Port Austin breakwall on Monday afternoon on a tex-regged plastic worm. My friend Art has a cabin on Loon Lake in the National Forest between Rose City and Mio.

Haven't been doing a whole lot of good lately.  I went to the Huron River a few days ago and caught a few Smallmouth Bass, but nothing worth photographing.  I did have a good size pike steal one of the Bluegill I was reeling in, but it tore through my 8 lb. line almost immediately.

I did, however, catch a 37" Northern Pike earlier this summer.

Here is the video from that trip:

the fishing on our private lake in Ogemaw county has been slow all summer. We had our campground fishing awards labor day weekend for our fishing contests. the largest bass was only 191/2", largest pike was 26". It was a real slow year this year the fish were down there I was marking them all summer on my graph they were just very tight lipped. We tried everything from minnows, worm, leeches, and emptied our tackle boxes of about every type of lure we owned!!! last weekend I hit the crappies real good catching my limit with my fly rod the largest being 131/2". I used a mosquito tied about 30 years ago lol. By the time I was done fishing it was tattered. We plant the lake every year and have stocked walleye, perch, crappie, hybrid bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass. We also put on average 50 lb's of fathead minnows a year.

Got a report on Saginaw Bay from a close friend. He said when they can get out they have been catching 11-13" perch about a mile out from the mouth of the Saginaw River. They are fishing in a 32' boat and have been blown off the bay several days this last week. Walleye fishing has been real slow lately also they told me. I'm grounded here but thought I'd pass the info along to you guys in case you felt venturous.
