I got the boat out the last 3 weekends both Saturday and Sunday!  Weather has been getting better and getting to know the boat more and more each trip.  I hit Kensington all 6 days and had a few in the boat.  My brother pulled in a couple real nice bucketmouths (3 #er's).  Can't wait for this weekend already!  Hope everyone is getting their chance to hit the water.

I do most of my fishin on Phonema, Squaw and Tupper, but i have been branching out a bit down in Okland county. My roots are out to Nepessing in Lapeer, man i love that lake. I just started a new job this winter though. I'm hoping I get enough free time on the weekends so that i don't miss out on too much fun this summer. Ill be on the huron river the 24th and 25th for trout fishin though. already got the weekend off!!!

Wow it's been a while, I'm still alive and kicking, not sure how many guys are still around on here, but I used to go by hardyareaguy (something like that).  Any way, I'm now single living in Big Rapid (45 minutes north of Grand Rapids). Gonna be fishing with some guys at work on Thursday nights, but would like to get to know some people and get out to do some fishing when we can work it out.

I like to fish just about anything, not a huge panfish guy, but if that's all that's biting.

Any of you from 'back in the day' give me a shout and lets catch up.

I used to go to Ferris State, Chuck. We fished the Muskegon every so often and used to pull out some nice steelhead. Best of luck to you and all of your buddies dealing with us college kids, haha.

    Hey GO Dawgs...

FSU has changed alot, I'm employed there and finishing up my degree - CIS.

I didn't get down to the river at all last fall or this spring, was trying to get my "poop in a group." Looking forward to the salmon run this fall usually do real well at Croton.  I'm fishing in the Fish Ferris tournament, currently leading the pack with 2 Smallies - 17" -3.75lbs and 18"-4.25lbs took the night at the Muskegon River below Rogers Dam and the month of May. Will be fishing Chippewa Lake tomorrow night, hopefully I can land a couple scoring Largemouth to keep ahead of the pack. This front moving through may separate the real fisherman from the wannabe's, I hope.

If anyone is going to be in the west Michigan area give me a yell, would love to drop a line with you. Hopefully I can get some time soon to find the big trout in the Muskegon near Big Rapids.

Keep in touch and tear em up'

That big snow store caused the university to change it's policy about canceling classes. The students did so much damage in the dorms and the rumor was that they bought all the beer available in the city that day.  The university did not close school again for snow until two years ago.

Anyone that's a trout fisherman, they planted some nice rainbow and browns in the Big Muskegon in Big Rapids two years ago, they have matured nice. Caught two 30" browns the other night floating a crawler through a big eddie. Bottom of  most of the rapids are holding some nice rainbows.

Headed out in a little bit for the FishFerris Tournament. I missed the last two weeks, but I'm only 2lbs 5 ounces outta first, so need to put some big fish in the boat tonight. Will let you know how I do.

Good luck and keep the tip up.

You got Capt. Blind Squrril in Flint area. I fish bass every week, and salmon out of Luddington ( at least this time of the year. It's St. Joe in the spring. ) Also trout opener in the U.P. , And the salmon run in the fall in the Betsy. Walleye in the spring, Smallies in the summer, and Kings in the fall all in the Flint river by my house. With this hot summer the Kings should be here by 1st or 2nd week of Oct. Red and white daredevils work great. And yes they DO bite it.  See Ya, Capt. Blind Squrril

    Hey everyone,

I'm alive and well, in fact totally awesome.  Just bought my first boat last night, yup pictures are on my profile. Looking to do some serious fishing this summer. I'm single (separated) and have a nice low maintenance apartment so I'll be on the water most of the time I'm not working.

I can't remember his name, but used to be in contact with a guy, I think his name may have been Craig?  From that Traverse City area, a walleye fisherman who makes his own custom jigs. If you are or know him let him know I'm looking to get in touch. Would love to go see him and drop a line on occasion.

Anyone else in the area (West Michigan) that is looking for a fishing friend, give me a shout. I know lots of lakes around this area and fish for most any preditor fish, especially northerns, Bass, and walleyes.

Hope to hear from you and I'll be more active. Also does anyone now how to change the tester profile? I need to alter mine now that I have a boat.

    Welcome aboard, dude!

Don't know who you're refering to.  A lot of people don't visit the forums anymore, sadly.

Hi guys From the Saginaw area here spent most of the winter on the river chasing them dinks. Spent most of the summer in the Lupton area fishing all the lakes and streams in the area. Not unusual to hop up to the ausable also. Fish for anything that will bite and let most of them go. When I'm not fishing I'm hunting so spend a lot of time on the lakes and in the woods.

Sure, getting the feel of my new bass boat so I'll be ready. Give me a shout and we can hit most any lake around this are. I was on Croton today, but my battery was dead so I got practice launching and loading.
My phone number is 231-679-7191, give me a yell and we can figure out a trip.

Happy long weekend and opening of Bass season.

Looking forward to hitting the lakes and landing some hogs this weekend. Hopefully the weather man isn't telling us lies and we will have some decent weather.

Getting the kinks worked out of my boat. Put an automatic on board charger in for the motor battery and haven't had many problems. I see what every one means when they say it's a hole in the water you keep throwing money in. The motor for the power trim cooked, $586 part plus installation and back up and running. I still have an electrical gremlin, but getting it figured out. Had it up to 60mph last weekend,  now the thing won't plane out. Will change the plugs and run some carb cleaner through it and see if that cures it's ills.

Hope everyone is getting out. If you get over my way give me a shout and we can go drop a line and catch some nice fish. I'm learning the lakes and getting my touch back from dock fishing all these years. Hopefully the tournaments I hit this year will play out well for me.

Be safe and have a great weekend. Remember to take time Monday to remember those who gave their lives for our nation.

Hey check out the event on my profile, "Hookin Up Heroes". It's a veteran and active duty military appreciation event held on Hardy Pond featuring a Pro/Am Bass Tournament and a Charity Bike Ride.

If you can you should check it out. Lots of food, great fun, and fish stories.
