Has anybody had any experience with this lake?  I've heard there's supposed to be sturgeon in it but don't know what else, or how good the fishing is.  We're going there soon to give it a try.  Any advice would be welcome.

black lake is 1 of several lakes that is in a chain.......3 of these lakes does have a good population of sturgens. the chain also has alot of walleye, bass, pike, muskies and panfish. it's been a long time since i been fishing on any of those lakes. but you can get alot of info from any of the fishing map books that have them listed.

Yep, that's the lake.  Have you been there?  We're going up shortly.  I'm really hopeful about the fishing.  Also, a lot of streams in the area seem to be trout streams.  Lots of opportunity.  Can't wait!

this may not help you, but they have a limited sturgeon spearing in the winter. I believe the limit is 6 annually. you get a permit and a number. when the guy ahead of you gets one, you are notified that it is your turn to fish (spear). Once 6 fish are taken, season is over. this is just from various readings in the past.

Burt Lake and Mullett Lake are supposed to have a lot of walleye, with Burt being the better of the two.

Pillman, thanks for the info on the sturgeon.  I've never even seen one before.  Probably won't this time, either.  Apparently there are supposed to be walleye in this lake too.  Something else I've never caught.  We'll be heading up there shortly.  I'm really anxious to get out on that lake.  I'll let you guys know how it is when I get back.
