It's 14 degrees here in Tipton this morning. I heard we might see a little snow this weekend too. At least there are more daylight hours - we can watch it snow longer each day than we could in December!
Has anyone ever died from Cabin Fever?

I don't know if anyone's completely keeled over from Cabin Fever, but I nearly have! |

I'm in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan and I've been out fishing 3-4 times a week since the second week of Feb. on soft water. I started on rivers where ice had broken loose and was fishing from my kayak. Now the lakes are nearly all open - still kayak fishing. Been a good year!! First year I've ever had snow accumulate on my kayak while fishing though. |

ahriman, Welcome to the club. You must be a true die hard - kayak fishing since mid February THIS year? I've washed frost off my windshield in late October while perch fishing Lake Erie, and people thought I was was nuts.......Man, you must have iron clock weights!!!!! Bill |

My mother thought I was crazy when I decided to go fishing last week when the lake I usually fish at was half frozen, even though I caught a good amount of fish. Anything for fishing, I guess! |

Good news... We're getting a wonderful mix of freezing rain and snow this afternoon Tipton. I saw a robin in the back yard, too. It won't be long now! |

So far today we've had rain, hail, snow, back to hail, then thunder and lightning! When does spring start? |

Don't think we are going to get a summer this year. The Omer sucker festival was this weekend I heard several different reports on the Michigan sportsman website. I fish mostly Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron and it's tributaries in the spring and fall. And Keep my boat in the marina on a private lake in the summer at my campground. There is still ice on the lake there and guys are still ice fishing. For crying out loud the trout opener is just a couple weeks away and there is still a foot of snow by my favorite trout stream whats up with that. OK I had my rant happy hooking guys. Oh yeah I also fish the Saginaw river a block from my house heavy all winter and yes we were catching upwards of 100 fish a day but was lucky if I caught 5 keepers all winter. |
