OK all you Michiganders who's gonna be out for the trout opener this weekend. Hoping to get some nice brookies or browns then hopefully find some Morels to put in the pan with them buggers. Heard they are starting to find a few shrooms up here even saw pics lol. Nothing better that fresh trout and shrooms cooked in butter. yum yum

sounds really good to me. just won't be doing that this year. most of the time i'd be around the baldwin area this time of year doing a bit of turkey hunting, trout fishing and shruming.

the trout opener wasn't any good for me this year didn't even fish the Rifle river where I fish was ripping too fast to drop a lure.  Will be going this weekend finally a fairly dry week should help the river get back down to where it belongs. If not I'll hit some of the small creeks that run into the rifle they are usually productive.

fishing report from the Rifle River finally got to fish it this weekend was excellent fishing caught one real nice Brown Trout,several other sub-legals, also caught some nice Brookies. The only reason I quite fishing was the skeeters drove me away. Forgot two things at home my camera and skeeter dope Grrrrr!!!!  Tried to take pics of the brown with my cell phone but haven't figured out how to used the new one yet.  Didn't find any shrooms yet up there either. Think the ground is still too cool yet. Hopefully next weekend they'll be popping. Another side note I picked up two shopping bags of garbage spawn bags, gulp mnnows, worm containers and energy drink cans. I hate when guys don't take home their trash when they fish especially a pristine trout stream like the rifle. It looked like the Ausable River when the salmon snaggers were there Years ago.
