Hey everyone my name’s Ian. I live in southeast Michigan. I’m an avid kayak fisherman seeing if there is anyone out there that would like a kayak fishing buddy. I have planned out a few trips for the summer in mostly southeast Michigan. But am looking to try out a lot of different spots in Michigan. If you are interested let me know.

Howdy, Ian, I am in Sterling and don't have a kayak, but maybe if I sell the big boat I'll be able to get one. Where are you located?

Hey jim how's it going? Yeah that would be great I really don't have anyone that has a kayak that I know either in the club or out of my friends. I live in royal oak and usually try to go at least once or twice a week. But yah let me know if you get one or ever just looking for a fishing buddy to go with.

Hey bill Yeah always a good time. Plus its easier to sneak up on the fish. I want this summer to be big, lots of trips. so I might be hitting you up to go out or for some spots to hit.

We don't have a kayak, but use an 8.5 ft. Portabote instead. We have trouble with strong currents and even moderate waves. Is that true of kayak fishing too? We got a trolling motor, but it and its battery are too heavy to carry if we have to walk any distance. We fish mostly in the center of the state, with occasional trips elsewhere.

Hey seakat, my kayak is pretty stable. Yeah if you haven’t fished from a kayak, you are missing out. It’s a whole new experience. It’s just so much fun going to spots on lakes that not many people go to let alone know about. Then even better is when you can get through some to some lakes that no one else can get to so it’s nice and quiet and you’re the only one there. Really helps me relax and enjoy nature. The kayak I have now is ok, but bet when I get my taxes back I’m going to upgrade to the BPS ascend fs12 which will be so much better. It’s a little on the heave side 80Lbs but I shouldn’t have a problem moving it. They also say if you have good enough balance you can stand up in it. Which needless to say I will be trying with no gear the first time. But yeah have a good time out there

    Hi Ian.

My name is Jim. I live by lake St. Clair and Kayak fish it all the time. If you like bass We should get together for an outing. If you haven't fished St. Clair for smallmouth in the spring then your in for a real treat. I have two yaks, a Ocean kayak trident 13 and a Ocean trident 15. I like the sit-on-top models the best. Makes it easier for me to fish. Here is a web site I put together to show people that ask about the fishing on St. Clair. There are some video's I shot while yak fishing. You might enjoy them.

those are some nice yak's Jim. That would be great, Yeah as long as it’s not winter I try to go out 2 to 3 times a week. I usually fish for largemouth but I plan on going after all types this year. I’m going to add you as a friend if that’s alright. So we can keep in touch. A little while ago I started a Michigan kayak fishing club if you want to join that. There’s only one other person on it and they haven’t posted anything on it. It would be nice to have someone else on there that knows there stuff. Thanks for sending the message.
