    Has anyone fished the remote lakes in the Quetico Provincial Park and can provide any tips? I will be heading up to Ely the end of August to fish smallmouth on Basswood Lake. Thanks in advance.

    I guess I'm a little late on becoming a member to catch you in time for that trip. I'll bet you did fine though....I live and work in Ely Minnesota and spend almost 90 days a year on both the canadian and minnesota sides of Basswood. If your ever heading back or would like to share stories about the lake let me know!

    Hi Matthew,

    I had a great time catching some nice smallmouth on Moose Lake and a few walleyes out of Birch Lake. We were staying out of Captain John Herrick's Moose Bay Co. On     the fourth day of the trip, I caught and released my biggest smallmouth at 21 inches while trolling a curly tail grub behind the boat out of Moose. I haven't fished Basswood yet, although I would be very interested! I have bookmarked your website. I will be in touch.
