Well my birthday was on Feb. 23, and i just got back from cabelas and headed out to Sunrise Lake, MN. Well me and 2 other buddies road out on the snowmobile with our voyager and met my buddies uncle out there. All day i watched his uncle get flag after flag. I was watching the one side that got the most hits and from the ice shak facing outward and to the right was the hotest spots, so i decided to go left ^.^
i moved mine farther out and boy after about an hour that one flag lead to me catching my biggest northern ever. After waiting for a bit the flag pops up. FLAG!!! my friend yells. Thank god it was my flag. I slowly took the tip up out of the water, gave it some time, started started feeling for the fish. i set the hook and boy it wasint a regular northern you would normally catch in that area.
I was so dissaponted when i didint feel anything on the line. started pulling up weeds, "oh darn it was just weeds." But then it started pulling again i got it out of the hole and my eyes grew to the size of grape fruits. Ended up being a 40 inch, 16 lbs northern pike. Best day of my life. Best part was it was the day that the "Predator" season closed.
