I went to Kabetogama last year and loved it, as on millacs there is a no-keeper slot, but we caught plenty of eaters each day to keep our bellys full ( breakfast and supper) and the fishery is on the verge of major breakthrough, most fish caught were in the slot with most being on the upper end 26-28inches, should start seeing fish in the next couple of years go over the slot to be able to keep them again. This lake has plenty of islands, rock outcroppings, and mid lake humps, should find fish any day of the year somewhere on the lake. Best part of this lake, is if you are looking for a vacation on the cheap, most islands on the lake have campsites, and are free on first come first serve basis, just have to stop by one of the visitor centers before heading out. Going back this year, we stay at a resort on the south central section of the lake, ( Pokorny's resort). Modest setting but all the amenities, and the piers are in an inlet which is buffered if you have a strong wind, don't have to worry about getting your boat beat up.
My body may be at the computer, but my mind is "gone fishin".
