I have been on this board for nearly four years and I can't remember ever seeing anything about the St. Louis area. Come on guys and gals! let's show some spirit. We have the two largest rivers in the country coming together on our door step and the fishing opportunities are endless. Where do you fish? For what? When? Any tips? I am sure we can find something to talk about if we just get together.

Well, how was that for a pep talk? Not to corny I hope.

I fancy myself a catfisherman, but I am happy with anything that is willing to bite. I was shore bound until last year when I bought a boat capable of handling the Missouri. So I am in the learning phase of powered river fishing. My biggest fish to date is a 39 lb blue caught under the JB bridge the same week the record was caught in Alton. That was a good week for catfishing. I frequently hit small streams such as the Bourbous and Huzzah for smallies and sunfish. For longer trips my buddies and I go to Big Creek at Sam Baker State Park and the 11 Point river for overnight camp and floats. I live just up the road from Simpson Lake in Valley Park that offers some pretty good crappie and bass action in the spring. For my winter time fun I go to the local park lakes to harvest some of the stocked rainbows. I have seen fish as big as 10 lbs come out of these. I have access to 2 private ponds but don't get there that much. Well that is my attempt to start a dialogue, now it is your turn. Don't be shy, tell us about yourself.
