Welcome to the 2008 fishing report season!
**PLEASE REMEMBER** IN MOST STREAMS SOUTH OF THE MISSOURI RIVER, BLACK BASS SEASON WILL OPEN 05/24/08, UNTIL THAT DATE ALL BLACK BASS IN THOSE STREAMS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE WATER UNHARMED IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING CAUGHT. FOR DETAILS SEE CHAPTER 6 OF THE WILDLIFE CODE.

TROUT PARKS
Bennett Spring State Park: 54 degrees, high, dingy; water level is 5 inches above normal; current is very strong; fishing deep is the best bet for catching fish; popular lures include:
jigs (hot pink & white, black & yellow); mini-jigs (bedspread and white floss); glo-balls (easter egg 3-color, anything with pink); 1/8 ounce Rooster Tails in variety of colors; Power Baits (yellow, and rainbow colors); April fishing hours: 7:00am to 7:30pm; Annual Kid's Free Fishing Day is on May 3 for kids 15 years and younger. Maramec Spring Park: 58 degrees, dingy; fishing has been good; water is above normal; try using scented baits and bright colors; April fishing hours: 7:00am to 7:30pm. (Report made on 4/10/2008)
Montauk State Park: 55 degrees, falling, dingy; fishing has been good; water will start clearing up as rains come to an end; fisherman have been doing well with Power Baits and doughbaits; fly and lure fishermen have been catching fish on various wet flies and light-colored lures; fishing hours for April are 7:00am to 7:30pm.
