Next ? is -Do you have access to a boat?Right up the road (Hwy61-67) just north of Buchiets is Joachim Creek access.Follow the sign to Artisian Lake, pass the lake and cross the bridge its on the right.Or you could go the Simpson Lake near Valley Park,or the Meramec river access right across the road from Simpson Park,That is on MarshallRd in the Kirkwood area.Or George Winter Park in Fenton. If you are into creek fishing, might I suggest Glaize Creek in Barnhart or Rock Creek in Imperial.I have caught just about every type of fish there is in the St.Louis area, except trout, out of these two in the past. You could also check out any of the Jefferson Co. parks along the Big River. They are all listed in the Street Guide. All of the places I mentioned have some type of bank access.

Hey J,You having a 40hp Jet puts you in the catbirds seat, per say.You have to get over to the Big River. There is Mammoth,Merrill Horse and Browns Ford Accesses which are all free of charge and have excellent fishing.Mammoth and Merril horse are both off Hwy H,between DeSoto and Richwoods. Browns Ford is off Hwy Y near Grandview High School. All within 30mins or so of Festus.Check them out. I have an Alumacraft with an 80Jet and have no problems negotiating any sections of the Big.My only problen is I won't jump the dams.Maybe we can get together some time,I'm over in Cedar Hill.
