No but goodluck that is one of the waters we used to do our tourneys on for cats, its a very awkward shaped lake compared to most of them here in the state, we wound up drifting the dam and hammered the cats hard, once again good luck to you Mcgannon and hope you are prosperous I will most likely be down in kansas on May 2nd I will be fishing on cheney that weekend my mother is graduating college on the 1st.

Well thanks. Sherman is quickly becoming one of my favorite lakes in NE. Last year we were there for a walleye tournament and were catching 13 and 14 in crappie trolling cranks for eyes. Especially with the new size restrictions on eyes there. Really looking forward to the type of fish people will be pulling out of there in a few years.

The one to watch is going to be Harlan in about 3 years if they are able to keep the water level up the amount of trees submerged there is insane, since the level came up, its going to be a fish breeding paradise gonna be some good slabs and bucket mouths come out of there over the next couple years, was already a new state record flathead caught out of there this year, whats the new limits on eyes there at Sherman anyways? The best lake I have found thus far for eyes has been Calamus and that was by accident during a tourney, lol. My favorite is still Johnson Lake though.

Calamus is ok but so many fish are kept off that lake that you almost always catch lots of short fish..The new regs for walleye for Sherman  2 between 15-20 in and 1 over 28. Gonna give alot of those fish time to grom and spawn. I would like to see more lakes go to this.

Lake johnson is 4 total any in between 15-18 and one over 18 If they were to change this just 3 total on this lake it would be a top producer in about 4 years. The only bad thing about it is the pike are starting to rear their heads again there, there were 3 pike caught out of the inlet last year which were the first in 7 years to come out the lake that were recorded.  I truly love this lake I find myself dreaming of it quite often. Sherman like you said is known as an awesome crappie fishery, If you dont have the underwater lights for your rig id suggest getting some, night fishing crappies in june/august should be real hot on that lake.

Calamus when we accidentally got into eyes all 4 of our rods that night dropped just like cats had hit them we released all 4 of them that hit as they were all 23''+ It was about this time 2 years ago too I dont know how much the fishery has changed since then but that was the best surprise I have ever had during a cat toruney and what gets me is we were drifting blood baits.

Everyone that i talk to says that the trolling isnt very good at sherman right now, but my father and i went to sherman on the 20th and caught walleye trolling the dam with lead core and they were pretty meaty. caught anywhere from 15- 19inch size and snagged a rapala lure in the process. Usually try to go to sherman everyweekend depending on schedules around the house. Have yet to catch a 28. last year about this time was colder and we were slabbing and i nabbed a 38lb flathead. tried to attach picture but it wont upload maybe to big of file or something?
