What are your top ten favorite rainbow trout lures/bait for creeks or lakes?

    I really need your opinions

    Mine are

    1:   Pink/green/yellow trout magnet

    2: Meal worms

    3: Yellow trout power bait

    4:Trout/panfish worms (very thin)

    5: Berkly Honey worms

    6: A small yellow/gold/red/blue spinner bait

    7: Small artificial salamanders/lizards

    8: Leeches

    9: Shiners

    10:Wax Worms

    All work great!

I was also wondering if golden trout(Palamino) prefer diffrent baits than rainbow trout?

    Vinny,

Don't confuse Palomino or Golden Rainbow trout with true Golden trout. The Golden Trout is a species that is native to and only lives in a very small area of southern California. New Jersey does not have any Golden Trout.

Palimino trout and Golden Rainbow Trout are simply color variations on the rainbow trout due to selective breeding to produce those colors.  A true golden rainbow trout is typically brilliant golden in color with the typical markings of a rainbow trout. A Palomino trout is between the true golden rainbow and normal rainbow in color because it is a cross breed of a true golden rainbow trout and a normal rainbow trout.

Because both are simply color variations of a normal rainbow trout, the same baits should work for the golden rainbow trout and palomino trout that work for normal rainbow trout. However, don't expect to catch many. The vast majority of the fish stocked by the division are normal pigmented rainbows. Palominos show up only once in awhile.
