I am coming up to NY to visit my brother the weekend of the 18th . Although I was born and raised in Beacon  , I don't recall any good fishing spots in the Poughkeepsie area . Anybody no of any good spots and their where abouts ? Any info is appreciated !

Just off hand I can think of the  Hudson river and Harriman state park which is a big area between the thurway and the hudson river with several lakes in it. Below Beacon is Croton falls I've caught trout there.

The striper run is over, but thats not to say you still can't catch a striper now. There are a few that stay in the hudson all year and they are usually small fish.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.
