I thought he was going thru with it but I read on LOU BB they got togather and kept a launch area open on Lake Ontario. It's just not right Frank after they increase the lis. last year from $40.00 for out of staters to $70.00 that money should have been put in that fund ?????? Where did it go ????? |

I don't know Ed, the only good thing I can tell you is he won't be Governor much longer. But what kind of damage he does in the mean time is what worries me. |

Maybe , just maybe............. http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/local_news/new_york_state/NY-State-Budget-20100322-apx NY Senate Democrats Offer Budget Plan MICHAEL VIRTANEN, Associated Press Writer ALBANY, N.Y. - ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Senate was set to vote Monday on a $136 billion spending plan that Democratic leaders said would soften some budget cuts proposed by Gov. David Paterson while still reducing spending by more than $4 billion, including $1.4 billion in aid to schools. Sen. John Sampson, leader of the majority Senate Democratic Conference, called the 51-page document "a road map of where we want to go," not a final product. It would reject new soda and cigarette taxes proposed by the Paterson administration and keep state spending increases below the inflation rate, he said. The proposal would maintain many of Paterson's proposed cuts to state agency budgets. Sampson said it would close the $9.2 billion budget deficit projected for the 2010-11 fiscal year. "This is a very difficult budget," said Sen. Liz Krueger, a Manhattan Democrat. "New York State is in very difficult economic times." The senators' proposal would keep most college tuition assistance grants, close three prisons instead of four, cut Medicaid spending, keep state parks and historic sites open, and hold the state's Environmental Protection Fund at $222 million. |

Hi ER--I think ya already know the answer to that ? When Politicians are involved you know that they won't give up their luxuries just to placate us poor peon's. That's probably why they left a launch open>so they can get their yachts in the water so they can get up around to places like 1000 Islands and the Seaway, etc..NY State has progressively gone to Hell long ago thanks to politicians That's the main reason that I am an Ex-NYorker! Take Care,God Bless and lets hope the future improves! Bill J./fishnhunt

What these politicians need to take into account is the harm they'll be doing to the local busines' and tax moneys they'll be losing through these closures.
All we could do is Pray and vote. |

The lastest word is the parks lock there gates tomorrow night at close of business. Although some of them the town, county and other local officials have stepped in and worked out a deal with the state to lease and run some parks. |

Word late last night from here in Albany is the parks will all remain open, but in order to get them they worked out a deal to chew a huge chunk of money out of the budget for the Environmental Protection Fund. Should be taken care of by end of business today so the parks can remain in operation for the Memorial weekend. The whole problem here is that the license fees go into the DEC budget for enforcement and administration, not the budget for the parks, which are derived from usage fees and supplemented through general budget allocations, giving the politicians in Albany relatively easy access to them as bargaining chips. The parks (while popular but not entirely profitable) were easy to hold hostage so Paterson could get major concessions on the EPF cuts he wanted. |
