sheck in the inshore section. Are you new to the area down there? Where are you located? I only vacation at the OBX, but I've been doing it for over 20 years so I can probably help a bit.

I'd love to get some information on best locations to go ie ramps, creeks to fish & techniques and quarry. I got more than a bit of knowledge of the upper run of Roanoke River for stripers and be happy to share too.

I live just a few miles from the 64/95 intersection in NC. I'm far enough away that I can't go on a weekly basis, but can go regularly if I can manage to get some positive feedback from some experiences out there. I have done a fair deal of fishing in past around Hampton and on the Eastern Shore so not totally new to salt water fishing, but fishing shallow in creeks and points and such in saltwater is something I have done much of.

fct I am thinking of retiring and moving to that area of NC. I have been checking out real estate on the computer and like that area. Is it close to 2 hrs to get to the OBX from your area. I know #64 runs right to nagshead.
If you get a chance PM me as I would like some info on that area.
I am a surf fisherman mainly but fish freshwater too. Thanks John LM/PA

The only real big draw to right where I live is the Roanoke River about this time through the end up April for Striped Bass Migration. The big reservoirs are to the west a touch and I have caught some in them, but not an expert. For freshwater I primarily fish ponds, creeks, rivers, and a small local reservoir. Biggest catches from this area for bass have been two 7 pounders and I let them both back where I caught them from so maybe someone else will get even luckier.
