    I've been fishing the NC coast for years, but I'll always use live bait and terminal rigs. Can anyone recommend some MUST HAVE lures for fishing the surf and sound on foot. Piers and jetties also come into play.

    fish with live too, not much luck, Iv'e been told to use top water minnow for blue fish or soft plastics on bottom, if that helps.

    I've always had luck using a brightly colored "Gotcha" plug for big blues

    this is easy

    spanish and blues- gotcha plugs, mirrolures, and slash baits, stretch 15's

    striper- jigs, mirrolures, poppers, topwater, slash baits, sretch 15's

    specks- same as striper no stretches

    drum- jigs, topwater, slash baits

    those are for the major gamefish that will eat artificials. for the striper you can use soft plastics on jig heads as well. everything else will pretty much require bait bait
