I believe the reason your not getting any response to your post! Well people don't like driving far distance for something that they just don't know what is going to happen! Then you have others can't afford gas prices because being on a budget. As for me it always seems that everyone wants to meet in the east coast or in the mountains. My suggestion would be in Greensboro or High Point area! Then have some other clubs that like to have more members. Another issue is having a nice spot that won't cost money ( you have to deal with sometimes cheap people or on a budget again). My suggestion is Have fishing derby for the children, then for the men, lessons on fishing casting, bait casters, spinners also teaching the routine of how to backup an unload boats at a launch ramp so you don't have to make other wait. Then loading the boat, what you should do( cleaning & draining any water) tying down the boat for transport! You be surprise of how many people don't know proper procedure of all the above! In a matter of fact I'm one of them! Then check your boat to make suggestions on making changes. Also on the trailer if they are okay and safety is the subject!
Then ask the NC F&G commission to have a person there to give information on what ever they can help out. You have to realize that local fisherman are not pros's and may be embarrassed to ask for help! May be have give aways and have some company to donate fishing equipment etc.!
That's about it from me but it needs to make it interesting to all, not just fishing men or have just the men & women and no children, but that is another problem would cause!
