Hello! Am Lowell H Turner, 50ish shortly, former military (24+ yrs) one of the Friends of CJ Brown Reservoir. Enjoy attempting fishies improvement on a small scale, one reservoir at a time as a hobby. Also, while a firm believer in catch and release, known to remove afew from the gene pool, occasionally. Currently fighting a drawn out battle with a less than dry basement, hopefully gaining the upper hand; while it`s not the beginning of the end of the soggy mess, am sure have turned the cornerof the damp dundgeon and have seen the end of the beginning of it. Have fished for 39ish yrs and hope have a few left to enjoy. Goal is to subdue 10+ lb wallygator from CJ, there are a couple in that soon to "green up" body of water, and would love so much to reach out and touch one of those graet-great-great grandma tooth fairies straight in her rather fangy jaws. "Oh my!! What big sharp long FANGS you have, Great- Great- Great Grandma Tooth Fairy!!" You will probably guessed that am occasionally long winded, a fault to be sure. Will shortly post remaining GPS positions for Lake Erie South 2, I do appreciate the Club`s forebearance, and would honestly love to hear any success stories from them. Thank you, and good luck! |

If you would like to attend any of our functions and would like more information, you can go to the N.A.F.C Ohio Chapter's website and get all the information you need for the upcoming meetings and events right here: . http://www.nafcohiochapter.com . I would also like to add again that if you are a member of the N.A.F.C. and would like to be involved with the N.A.F.C. Ohio Chapter, There are no extra dues or fees to become a member of the Ohio Chapter. You can contact the Ohio Chapter Secretary, AmyM, and she will help you through the registration process on the website. Hey guys, my names alex.
I have only ever freshwater fished, not really interested in saltwater, but would for sure try it. I fish for large and smallmouth, crappie, bluegill, perch mostly, that is what my private lake has stocked... but i have a serious interest in trout, moreso than any other fish. call it an obsession if you will.
I have only been one time in tennesee, and would love to know if i can find trout anywhere near cincinnati. i hear this lake a few miles away has them in springtime. cant wait until next spring. i might end up trying to go to tennisee soon and rainbow trout fish.
I fish solely shimano, diawa(sometimes) and BPS rods, and nothing but shimano reels. I do have others, but love shimano the most because i have never ever ever had a problem with them. I preffer spiderwire mono, but will use trilene if i have too. i like to be a very finicky fisherman when it comes to gear, but i dont buy things because there expensive, and top dollar. if it works it works.
Enough blabbin tho, Have a wonderful day, gonna head out here soon to grab a few LM before i go to sleep. I am a recovering drug addict, i have been 3 and a half months clean. i find fishing the hobbie to take all the stress and bad things away in my life.

Just saw this post or I would have posted here instead of starting a new post. Well as I said I live in a small town of Summerfield OH. Just off of the back waters of Seneca Lake. Bass fishing has been good there last week with the cool down we had. Bass fishing is something new for me. I enjoy doing it. Just been doing it for three years and into my fourth season. I mostly catfish Seneca back waters. There was a 58 LB flathead pulled out of there last weekend. Wasn't me. I am a Volunteer Firefighter for the pass 30 years and EMT-I the pass 18 years. I certainly hope to get to meet some of you folks sometime in the near future. |

The information about the upcoming CJ Brown derby is at the Ohio Chapter website under the Chapter Events section; there is a map available in the Fishing Information section courtesy of Ffisch and Fishing NaNa, there are GPS positions available AND a physical description of where, how many, types and depth of each set placed here in the thread "Lake Erie South @...#1, #2, #3, and so on and so on"; between map in hand and some of the knowledge in the threads, and the ability to fish cover throughly, someone`s going to do QUITE well! |

The Ohio Chapter website has a map of CJ Brown available in the ChapterEvents thread; the map shows most of the added cover placed over the last 2 yrs. It was posted due to the efforts of Ffisch and Fishing NaNa. Also the thread "Lake Erie South 2- #1, #2, #3 and so on and so on..." here may be of use with GPS positions as well as a physical description of where, how many, how deep, ect...will bet with a copy of the map in hand and some knowledge of what`s there and a little skill throughly working cover several persons SHOULD do QUITE well.... |

Hello everyone, New member, well renew i guess. Was a member a few years ago and let it lapse. I'm in the nortwest corner of the state, Bryan/ Defiance. Love all fishing but enjoy crappie trolling more than most. Fish a lot of different lakes in southern MI. Also fish the rivers mainly in the spring. Maumee- walleye, white bass, crappie, catfish. Tiffin- catfish. Auglaze- crappie and cats. Usually get on the ice several times a year but still never made the trip to the big lake on the ice. Planning that soon. |

Hi there, Kevin here, recently new member to nafc, enjoying it a lot. just got into the forums and finding them informative and fun, love it. i am 28 yrs old, like bass, pike, and panfishing. hey darryl i am making a trip to paint creek for crappie the 3rd weekend in april, any pointers? i am living in chillicothe area and dont get out there as much as i like, but have heard good things about this lake for crappies. i heard i should try the west end, which is shallower and has good cover. are the bait shops gonna be open by then so i can get some minnows? |

hey alanders, you arent the only one, i had a bad oxy habit, been off them for awhile but needed help to get off them too, i was prescribed suboxone though, a little less addictive then methadone. it was amazing how after i got off of them all of my interests and hobbies that i took back up instead of trying to "score" |

What's going on guys! My name is Jason and I live near Youngstown. I am 27 and am married with 2 children. I just bought my first boat a few months ago. A older 16ft champion bass boat, nice starter boat for us. I fish a lot and always have. Mosquito lake is the lake I generally go to but also fish milton, berlin, and west branch. I usually fish for bass but also walleye and crappie fish. |

hey guys i just got back from my fishing trip on paint creek lake and had a great time. my plan to fish the west end was abrubtly cut short when i arrived at the lake, which was very much flooded to my surprise. so i stopped in the bait shop and started talking to the guy there and he told me to try below the dam in the river. man was he right, ended up catching about 30 keeper crappies on those panfish tube jigs under a bobber, man it was fun, cant wait to go back |

Larry, you need to talk to ARV about this. It was brought up at the meeting at Wolf Run this weekend and apparently Bigdog did not inform anyone about this directly. There are some concerns that they have to talk to you about. So if you would PM or give Arv a call. |

That is good to hear Larry. Glad that is cleared up. Unfortunatedly I am not going to make it to the annual meet this year or else I would surely get a few tickets. I have never fished for muskies before. That would be a new one for me. Caught a baby one in Lake Loramie the year before by accident. They are a crazy fish , even at 7 inches. |

First of all, let me say WELCOME to all of our new Ohio members that have signed in here since my last visit. I have not been able to access this site for a very long time. I was messing around with it this morning and finally got back on. Hopefully it will stay that way. Anyhow, if any of the new members are having problems getting registered on the ohio chapter site, please let me know and I will get it resolved a.s.a.p., I will be up at the annual ohio chapter meet the rest of today and possibly tomorrow. If you can make it today, please do so as we will be having our meeting and then our fishing charter raffles and the regular raffle. The money raised goes into the chapter general fund to keep it operating as we are a legally registered non-profit organization. So please come out and support our ohio chapter of the nafc. The meet is at Findley State Park which is just south of Wellington,Ohio on state route 58. Hope to see you there. BD |

The money raised goes into the chapter general fund to keep it operating as we are a legally registered non-profit organization. So please come out and support our ohio chapter of the nafc. The meet is at Findley State Park which is just south of Wellington,Ohio on state route 58. Hope to see you there. BD |

First of all, let me say WELCOME to all of our new Ohio members that have signed in here since my last visit. I have not been able to access this site for a very long time. I was messing around with it this morning and finally got back on. Hopefully it will stay that way. While I'm here, I'll just add that I am no longer the co-chairman of the Ohio Chapter but will still continue to serve as the chaplain. River is now the new co-chairman and take over those duties as of March 2012 meeting. It has been a pleasure to serve the Ohio chapter as the co-chairman since we started and now it's time to turn it over and let someone else have a turn. I am honored to have met and made many new life long friends since I began as the first co-chairman of the Ohio chapter. Being the assistant pastor of my church as well as now back to working a full time job working 50-60 hours a week, it feels good to turn it over to someone else. It also gives me more fishing time when I am able to attend any of our meets. Thanks again my friends. BD |

Hey I don't think I have ever signed up for this. I checked out the set looks like some good info on there and even better people! My name is Kevin I currently live in Chillicothe which is an hour south of columbus so I claim paint creek lake as my home lake. The past few years I have been converted from largemouth fishing to chasing crappies just love it! Paint creek isn't too bad either for catching them. O talk to you all later |
