Can anyone help me out with some information on East Fork lake? I have some camping info from Ohio's recreation site, but I have some more questions. Do they offer boat or kayak/conoe rentals? What is the fishing like? How are the campgrounds? Has anyone fished/camped there? Are the camping facilities up to par? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I live less than an hour from there, here in Kentucky. It would be great to find a nice weekend retreat. We will be camping in a tent if that helps any. Thanks in advance for all tips and advice.

You might try getting on the ohio chapter web site. There are some members that live down that way. Not many of them come on here anymore. Good luck.

Well, fishing is very good there. Just make sure you have the right gear for the fish you're going for...there are monsterous fish in there...spooled 50lb test with a huge shad on a hook.

Try Crappie.com> Stsate Forums> Ohio> EF; there are a good # of posts, but expect to hear a little bit about "hoopleheads"...

Fred: After reading your post I checked the Ohio DNR site for info and there isn't much available. Apparently there are six launches around the lake but no mention of boat rental or a concession. The lake is just outside the boundaries of my Fishing Hot Spots map, so no help there either! I had to check given the proximity to my sister-in-law and her hubby(who do not fish). Supposedly there are striper in the lake but oddly no mention of catfish. Tom

Trust me, there are flathead, blues, and channel cat. I have caught all types of them throughout my 27 years. Stripers are fun too, you just have to find them. If you want crappie**** the coves with the tree stumps.
