I read in on of the fishing magazines that they are catching stripers on the Smith River in Oregon.  I take it that the Smith empties in Calif and somewhere upstream it crosses into Oregon.  My question is how far up?  Can you fish it with either license?  Is there any ocean fishing for striper?

I am leaving for Brookings next week and figure this forum has quicker info. than me looking it up.  Appreciate any info.

    Thanks,

The Smith river is part of the Umpqua system, and it is below the tidewater, and it emptys into the Umpqua just a short ways above it's mouth.
