I just got off the phone with Porber (Matt Worland). He and JustDave were heading out today for some steelhead fishing. Dave fell and broke his leg. I am not sure if there was a banana on the trip. Dave, hope you have a speedy recovery and well soon to get back out on the water.

Gotta put in MY $0.02 worth here. Dave, first off thank you for having me along- I'm glad things weren't worse- and they would have been had I not been there. I thoroughly enjoyed what we got to do but the unfortunate things happen. Having said that......
I'm wondering how bad could it be, that someone would go to THOSE lengths to get out of fishing with ME??? I mean come on- REALLY?? You could have just had your wife call with some story about someone breaking something and you would have been free to attend to the emergency. But NOOOOooo- YOU have to go ALL the way!
OK, enough wink, wink- nudge, nudge for now- Take care of yourself Dave and I'll try to be ready when you are to tackle them again. Thanks, buddy.

    Great,
Kick me when I'm down with that rant.  I didn't even get to eat any cobbler this trip.  If I didn't want to fish with you, I wouldn't have showed up and I think you know that.  It is always a pleasure to fish with folks trying to learn and the more we fish, I think the more you will learn and we WILL get you into a Steelhead one of these days. (Soon I hope)  I have another appointment tomorrow with Orthopedist and still haven't gotten the same story twice on how long this is going to take.  I do have a standing offer for some Walleye fishing in a boat where all I have to do is sit and hold the rod.  Should be doable in a week or so.  Can't work until I get a walking cast, so I just might have to get up to Tri-Cities.

Well, I AM learning! This last trip I learned that JustDave teaches that if you can handle the tough trails to the river, you'll be able to handle the easy trails!
I'm looking forward to my next lesson though. I sent your pictures to my fishing buddy here and he's ready to make a road trip. With two households to reduce into one I'm not sure when I'll be able to make it but....I'll try to work it out somehow!

Dave, I hope that you have a speedy recovery. I too look forward to a lesson and long for the steelhead on the end of my line.

Appreciate all the well wishers.  4 weeks is the common time frame I'm getting from the various doctors,  Plus or minus a week or two.  We'll get you into 'em.

Well, I've tried several times to post a photo of the path that Dave fell on with no luck. Mainly, I was hoping to show that the path while looking innocuous enough, it still held danger. Please take this as a reminder there are hazards awaiting us around every corner, and BE CAREFUL!
Have a safe trip, then come back here and share you success with us!

Cast came off today.  I was able to post pic in Misc "Who caught a fish today".  Pretty much a crap shoot for me posting pics, couldn't post it here.  Three weeks or less to the river.
