A lake Marburg meet, trying to pull both PA folks and Marland folks toward that. Marburg has fishing opportunities from shore (including a handicapp accesible pier/dock), camping facilites, picnic areas and a 20 HP limit. 7 total boat launches.
When I was fishing at Safe harbor this weekend, I also saw meet potiental. There are several options in the area from stream fishing (I assume there are panfish, trout and smallies available in the conestoga), open water fishing on the susquehanna for anyone that would want to put thier boat in the river, opportunities where the rivers meet (saw a big walleye come out of there Saturday) and of course, fishing from the dam itself (a personal favorite). The area appeared to have picnic facilities, but I didn't really invesitgate that.
I'm eyeing mid to late September.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
I've got a feeling we'd all like to do it again. |

As for Pequea ( safe harbor ) it can get tricky with people with fiberglass and bigger boats especially if the river level is down. I'de meet up with ya at the dam for some catfishing if I had a vehicle. Muddy run lake is fairly close to Safe Harbor and has all the accomodations for a meet up. It is trolling motor only, but it isn't a big lake so thats no problem, and it is a good lake to fish. |

On a side note--I got some live bait for tomorrow morning:worm and leeches. I also got hubby a license online <!--graemlin::D-->.I hope he meant it when he said this would not be our only trip. I ran into some locals at the Redner's and they confirmed a rumor about a very large walleye just sittin there. Nobody has been able to tempt her. That's why I'm going with the live leeches. Weather is expected to be cloudy all day, sooo...I am sooooo excited. I won't be able to sleep. <!--graemlin::rolleyes:--> |

He complained about the bugs--I handed him the spray. He started spraying the air. I told him he had to spray it ON himself. He got one tangle after another. So, I handed him my rod to help him out of a bird's nest. He felt the action on my Phleuger and said, "I see how it is--you have the Cadillac and you gave me a Chevette." "Well," said I, "it's good thing, too. You keep throwing yours on the ground." So I proceeded to get his rod situated; taking one of the extra hooks off. "you give me a Chevette and now you remove one of the cylinders!" He had trouble setting the hook. We had lots of bites, and the big fishies were popping their heads from the water to look at us. (I think they were having a laugh under water.) I actually had a nice perch on my line, but when I turned to check on Bob's issues with yet another tangle--he threw the hook. So, no fish were landed. Will try again another time. Also, I am fine with the 23rd and the 30th R/Date. |

Dear Jose,
I’m so glad to hear your meet was such a success. It’s always great when fellow anglers can get together and share their enjoyment of fishing!
Unfortunately, since several years ago, liability concerns have kept us from officially promoting and sponsoring meets as we used to. I realize it wouldn’t be a problem with 99.99 percent of member meets, but in today’s lawsuit-prone society, the Club simply cannot afford to risk the legal action that could result from a meet-gone-bad that we sponsored and promoted.
Of course, we don’t want to discourage you and other members from getting together or even holding your own unofficial meets—the Club simply has to maintain a hands-off role in them. I want you to know that I am passing your message along to my superiors in the hope that we can change this policy in the future.
I hope you understand. I apologize for not being able to do more.
Best,
