I will, Scott! This weekend I visited two different tackle shops, looking for materials for my lure making. Saturday afternoon and into the night I was hanging around with my scouts. We had a campfire, played football (I just watched this activity!) and cooked hot dogs & sausage over the fire. One of the mothers provided us with home made brownies! Sunday was church all morning. Afterwards, my oldest daughter & family stopped over to wipe out my fridg...I will be taking the "Bushwacker" over to his shop this coming Saturday to change the crankcase oil & filter and the lower unit oil and a shot of grease where it needs it. Since most of my fishing this year will be local I will keep the boat at his shop. This coming Sunday afternoon, weather permitting, we will go exploring Blue Marsh! My camping gear is all squared away, all reels re-spooled and tackle sorted. This morning I made up some more spoons. I received my tape order (thanks for the link Ed) this morning and made two spoons up with new patterns. I'll be taking them up to Seneca to be tested this June! Today for lunch I will meet my son Brian for lunch...Should be a good time! Ok Ed, it's your turn! LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

I went down to the Susquhanna this past Sunday and caught nothing! I really just wanted to wet a line since the water was really cold and fast moving up around Pittston. The ice was still melting around the banks. I found some good spots for my to pull some nice fish out of down there. I cannot wait till the river gets lower again. Thank god for fishing season! |

Hey Pete when you go to bluemarsh look for old stream, river or creek channels that will get cover up with the high water 8' to 20' deep. It will help if they lead to a bay or mouth of stream ect... and when the water is high this summer there is weed beds around full of perch or panfish. Those big toothy critters will hide and use those covered up channels as highways to ambush the perch and panfish. Watch you mail I'm sending you a kit that has what you need to put that 20lber in the boat. If you can drift along these channels you will put fish in the boat. Look for thest channels that go in differant direction so that you can take advantage of the wind direction. Lifemember and Bushwacker SMF upstate NY

Today I went exploring with my son-in-law at Blue Marsh. I took some pics and I hope the first thing you notice is the reduced water level. This made it easier to find the brush and contours. I started taking pics on the main channel side of the short-cut between the island and the beach, on the west shore of the main channel... In this first pic (above) you would never know this obstruction was there unless you snagged it. The light current runs right to left. This looks to be a good pocket to explore! BTW, the water level is down 6' to 10', somewhere in there. The next few shots are of the same shore line, just around the small corner... In the three pics above, I am sure you know where I am at, Scott. This is where we caught the big cats on crankbaits. This area provided us with many opportunities last summer. We now have a better idea how to fish this area. This last pic is a littler farther up, heading for the "no wake zone." I have several more pics to share but they are all of the "no wake zone" because I filled my card before returning to the island...And there were some great finds there as well! I will be returning in the next week or so for more pics and fun! BTW, the water temp was 46* to 47* everywhere except at the free launch and stumpfield area. There it was 49* and the depth was at 3'...No fish were caught today but it was sure great gettin' back out on the water! LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif from S.E. Pa. |

The water level is lowered every year at the end of October for flood control. At about the end of April the water level is raised to more normal levels and the docks are put in place at the ramps...I'll post some more of yesterdays pics later today. LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

I know it is not the weekend just yet, but I could not wait to share this! I found a project bass boat for a steal! It is a 1987 Dyna-Trak 180 SS for only $750.00! It is a project for me and my future 11 year old step-son to work on in the spring and hopefully have it done by begining to mid summer. The only bummer is that there is going to be a lot more work than I anticipated due to the transom being shot! Oh well we are going to start the floor tear out this week. Thank god for fishing season! |

Nice looking boat httrdd and that smile on the young one was worth the cost of it. Just a heads up I replaced the floor in my 1988 Starcraft a few years ago ( was in over my head but got it done) and saw where some damage was being done to the transom so when I put the new floor back in I did it with the idea if I had to take it back out for any reason I could and I left a 1 1/2" space in the back so water would not lay in the coners agaist the trasom. Have fun and if we can help just ask. Ed |

I hear ya Pete. I'm pretty sure the water level will still be down for the tournament. It will probably be the only tournament down there till after bass season opens because I know there is no tournament fishing during the bedding season. I didn't research the date on when bass season officially closes.

Thanks for the compliments guys! We decided to post-pone the tear out until fall though. I figured we would enjoy this boat for the summer save up some money then work on it later. I will be running on the electric motor only this summer so no big lakes for me. Oh well I am in love with this boat, after all it is one huge upgrade from my 12ft aluminum. Glad to hear ya found the hybrids, Scott! I went to the fishing flea market and found some real good buys... I then spent the rest of the day working on the "Bushwacker". The bunks had to be modified, adding extra metal so that Iwould have better adjustment. Everything for the engine went well until I tried to start her up...The battery is fried, won't hold a charge. I have a new spare at home so I will take it up this week one day and finish her up... I never made it to the marsh, would have liked to tho! Scott, I hope my pics were a help and you were able to tell the spots where I took the pics. I can believe that the stripers are up stream. A lot of different species is spawning up that way. The walleye fishing should be good all the way back thru the channel...On my son-in-laws new fish finder (Lorance 510c) we saw many bait pods in the main lake area (last weekend). Especially over by the dam. LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

Pete, you couldn't see the pics I posted above right? I'm assuming you saw the ones I e-mailed you? The stripers were schooled up in a shallow pocket below the bridge that crosses in the no-wake zone. Right where it makes the right hand turn on the left side before it hits that steep bank. The wind was blowing into that pocket and I'm sure blowing the baitfish in there, we were catching them as shallow as 4 ft. I wander if they don't make a false spawn run like they do at Raystown? Hope you got everything straightned out with your trailer!

Goat, I was using a shad colored x-rap that I got the smallie and one of my hybrids on. The other hybrid I got on a clown colored rouge. Bruce was using a pearl colored excaliber I believe that he got the largemouth on and his first hybrid, then that fish bent on of the hooks straight so he was switching to a few different models, mostly with a lot of white in them. Good luck in the tournament! Most of our fish came in fairly shallow water, couldn't get anything on the deep banks with jigs which was pretty unusual. Ed, thanks for the tip! I'll have to see if that works for me! |

Thanks Frank! I was just doing some reading on the hybrids and they do indeed make a spawning run. Unlike most hybrid species, they are fertile and in some lakes actually do reproduce. Not sure if they reproduce at Blue Marsh but that confirms my theory of them making a spawning run. |

Hey Scott the DNR must keep records on stocking so that might give some insight as to size of the stockeys. Then are there any fry or smaller fish out there that might lead you to thinking that they are spawning. Lifemember and Bushwacker SMF upstate NY

Nice fish and great pics, Scott! Everything went good with the scouts. It only rained over night, not during the day. Interesting what you say about the wipers. I thought that some make false spawning runs, but that the hybrids don't actually reproduce...I guess I learn something new every day! My grand daughter catches them in the 12" range on a regular basis at the northern tip of the island (both sides)! LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif from S.E. Pa.

Glad to hear you had a good weekend Pete. Frank, they stock them in there every few years at least. Not sure how often? I'm pretty sure they make a spawning run in there because they are usually up lake or back the one creek arm in the spring. I really don't think that their successful in that lake, could be, but I'm sure it's in their instinct to try. In the biology report I read they are capable of reproducing and some lakes they must have confirmed hatches. Good luck on Tuesday Kinger! Collen, you gotta give them a shot sometime. They hit like a ton of bricks and the fight is awsome, as I'm sure your aware of seeing your big striper pic. Do you guys ever fish the flats for them?

I've never fished the flats but my buddy goes there every year, maybe one of these times he'll take me. I go out of Tighlman Island with my dad and brother every year in April. We've going down there for 6 or seven years now with a guide, we also go sea duck hunting with him in January. I'm livin if I'm fishin, life member since 12/05/2001 |

Yeah they can move! Their hard to kill too, shoot em once and they hit the water then you got to boat around and try to shoot them again as they keep diving underwater. But boy is it fun. Our fishin and duck trips are really poker and drinkin trips with a little fishin and huntin in between I'm livin if I'm fishin, life member since 12/05/2001 |

Well, I thought I was going to be able to get out with Scott this weekend but Karen has other plans for me! Two trees to plant, continued work on the back porch Saturday and a family cookout on Sunday! Best of luck to all those that can get out...Remember, trout opens this Saturday in the south east! Hi everyone, we're not going fishing anywhere this weekend but Sunday we are going over to my mom's for Easter dinner. Monday it is supposed to be nice so I will probably get my son out then. Hopefully my fishing tackle cart comes in by then. It will make things a lot easier for me to move without hurting my shoulders or neck. Keep on fishing |

Man-0-man what a day! I had the "Bushwacker" out for the first time this year at Blue Marsh today...Me, Scott and da .gif) headed for the southern tip of the island about 7:30 this morning. Scott and I tossed lures until our arms got tired, all the way to the northern end...I wacked several bushes in true Bushwacker fashion... nothin'...We headed toward the no wake area, working a section of shore line that was loaded with rock and fallen trees...Through everything we had into the water... and still nothing! .gif">So Scott and I prayed to the fishy god mother for help .gif) and headed into the no wake area. About 1:00 we headed in, a little down for our efforts .gif) ...But hey, at least we could get out and enjoy the day that the Lord provided... .gif) Scott is gonna try for tomorrow, and I wish him luck! .gif) I also hope he takes the .gif) along with him! .gif) LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

ALL I CAN SAY IS THE BOAT WORKS JUST FINE, BUT THE FISHING END WAS NOT. ALLEN AND I TROLLED FROM 10:30am TILL 4:00pm AND PUT NO BROWNIES IN DA BOAT. WE TRIED SPOONS, PHOEBES, STICK BAITS(DEEP $ SHALLOW RUNNERS), JOINTED RAPALAS. WE FLAT LINED OUT TO 125' STRAIGHT BEHIND THE BOAT AND RAN SIDE PLANERS OUT BOTH SIDES OUT TO 40'-75' AND 30'-75' BEHIND THEM. WE DID MANAGE TO CATCH A 15.5" RAINBOW ON THE WAY IN TO THE BOAT LAUNCH. WE WERE TALKING TO 2 GUYS THAT WERE PUTTING IN THEIR BOAT AFTER WE HAD MINE OUT AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE BEEN CATCHING BROWNIES AND RAINBOWS FROM SHALLOW DOWN TO 20'. I DID NOT HAVE MY DOWN RIGGERS ON THE BOAT. ALSO THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE CATCHING THEM REAL EARLY IN THE MORNING AND LEAVING THE LAKE AT THE TIME WE PUT IN. BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME I GUESS. PICS ARE POSTED.

Oh man I thought you would of killed them there! How fast were you trolling also? I found that the fish wanted the lures pretty fast there since the water is a little warmer than this time last year. Try agin in a couple of weeks and change up a little for the best results. Thank god for fishing season! |

Hi all, had my son at Beltsville this morning off to the left of the boat ramp, but the water is to darn low yet it was only about a foot deep for about 20 feet out. Needless to say we only stayed 45 minutes then went on the other side of the road to the inlet but there were to many people there so we came back to Tuscarora, but it was to hot in the sun so we came home Keep on fishing |

Well today I went old school, for me. I grabbed the hip boots and ultra light rod and hit a trout stream for a little while. I caught three on a rooster tail and one on a worm. Missed a few on the spinner and had a few follow without hitting. All brown trout, mostly small the largest being maybe 12 inches. After that I went to a local pond and put on a twister tail. Caught I don't know how many crappie and quite a few small bass. The weird thing was I didn't catch one bluegill. Looking back, I could have had some good fish for the freezer if I hadn't thrown everything back. Was a good day and felt good to get back to my roots! |

yes Scott, we get there every once-in-a-while, been there once so far this year. It is hard to get a good bank area without being on top of someone or draging the gear to far. I have my sights on getting a Lowe Stinger Bass series boat, if lady luck ever comes my way. As far as work.........lets just say I have to look for an entry level office position because of my low back. ps. I heard they stocked lunker bass in Sweet Arrow, I just hope people don't catch them and keep them, that way they keep getting bigger. Keep on fishing |

We fished Muddy Run on Saturday morning. The bite was slow so I thought I'de do some experimenting with a swim bait. I threw it for a couple hours but nothing wanted it. We both ended up with two largemouths, all pretty nice sized. Bruce caught his two on a lizard, I got one on a crankbait and one on a jig. Southeast PA |

I got out today for the first time this year put in at 12:10 pm first launch by myself this year so I took my time. Every thing went fine and worked without any problems. Water is still cold up here 46* north of the point found some 49*-50* later south of the point marked very few fish but that's normal when the waters this cold 44* 43* down 100'. I had a few marks at 12' to 15' drug a spoon around for those. Marked a few in the 39' in the warmer water south of the point. Most were 110' to 115' but could not get them to fire..............we'll give them a go again in the am. |

That sucks Kinger! Sorry to hear that! Me and Bruce went down to Blue Marsh Monday morning for a couple hours, didn't fish long due to we had to work Monday night. We got there a little before light so we were throwing buzzbaits. We caught a few, some pretty decent. Also had some good blow-ups that didn't hook up.

I got out yesterday with Carol and we ran into Hoot at the launch area so we asked him if he wanted to go. Started big motor up and no pissstream shut it down raise it up and ran wire down port. Worked fine then also ran it down the kicker just in case. Fished east side south of Lodi Point after I got the jumper cables out to recharge up the 2nd battery for the depthfinder and GPS. ( It don't pay to let my baby sit for a week). Weeds were BAD so we starte to the west side out over 500+' of water it was weed free so I set up and trolled over. We (Carol) landed a 17" landlock salmon just as we were getting out of the deep bayson where the depth lines are much closer togather. We ran south from there and picked up 3 lakers all fish were taken on the same rig at 82' down and 18' back. Wind started picking up so we called it a day. This was Carol first trip out this year. |

Congrats you guys! Glad to hear Carol got some fish her first time out! We finally got out today, between me and Bruce we probably got between 15 - 20 LM. Nothing big most between 1 1/2 & 2 1/2#. Felt good to be out again! We hit Blue Marsh and there were hardly any boats out fishing but lots of pleasure boats with lots of hotties in bikinis! We caught the bass on all sorts of different baits. Southeast PA LM '99 |

I hope it works out for you, Frank! This weekend the scouts and I will be trout fishing (catch & pay!). The troop will be taking local cub scouts out for this treat and then we will be camping over night at the church. The troop will be camping starting tonight and the cubs will join us on Saturday. Should be a great time for everyone! I will be taking some of the Boy Scouts through the fishing merit badge, there will lots of games, bridge building, lots of food over the fire and of course church on Sunday morning...Wish me luck! Well just got back and I sent one pretty happy young man home to tell his mom and sister about the dozens of fish he caught. He got nothing huge but quite a variaty Rock bass, sunfish, bluegils, perch ;the perch were 10" to 12" and fat. I even let him drive the boat a little bit. We had a couple of T- muskies follow lures into the boat but know hits. But a least he got to see one. Lifemember and Bushwacker SMF upstate NY

WAY TO GO EVERYBODY THAT HAD SUCCESS WHILE ON THE WATER WHILE I WAS UP IN CANADA. HERE'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT.
WELLZ I BE BACK AND DA FISHIE TALES ARE FEW THIS TIME, BUT AT LEAST DA OTHER WAY WAS GREAT.
THE WEATHER KILLED THE FISHING ACTION AND THE LAKE WAS WORKING BADLY
WHEN WE GOT THERE. THE TEMPATURE OF THE WATER FLUCUATED DRASTICLY FROM
75*-67*. WITH ALL THE RAIN WE HAD THE LAKE RAISED 6", BUT AT LEAST THE
GORTEX RAIN SUIT GOT A GREAT WORK OUT AND KEPT ME DRY.
WE DID MANAGE TO CATCH A FEW MARBLE EYES. MOST OF THEM WERE TO SMALL.
THEY WERE FROM 11"-16". THE KEEPERS WERE 20"-24" AND THERE WERE ONLY 5
OF THEM. THE BASS BITE WAS AWESOME. BOTH LMB AND SMB. THEY BIT ALL THE
TIME. WE HAD TO CATCH A HUNDRED OR SO, WITH THE BIGGEST BEING A 4lb
LMB. THE PIKE FISHING WAS SLOW ALSO, BUT I DID CATCH A FEW OVER 8lb AND
HAD A FEW BREAK OFFS. THE CRAPPIE FISHING WAS SLOW ALSO. CAUGHT ALOT OF
SMALL ONES, BUT THE KEEPERS WERE FEW IN #s, BUT THE BLUEGILL AND PERCH
FISHING WAS A DEFFERENT STORY. WE COULDN'T KEEP THEM OFF THE HOOK. THE
PERCH WERE IN THE 12"-14" RANGE WHILE THE GILLS WERE IN THE 8"-12"
RANGE. SO ALL I CAN SAY IS WE STILL WERE AWAY FROM HOME AND ANY TIME
AWAY FROM HOME IS A GREAT THING NO MATTER WHAT. FISH PICTURES ARE ATTACHED ALONG WITH A FEW BONUS PICS. ENJOY ___

Today we went up to Pinchot Lake. Was hoping to throw frogs on top of the matted weed beds - NOT! They were'nt there! Their doing some kind of erradication program on the eaurasion milfoil. There are still some weed beds there but nothing like it was and none reaching the surface. We started at the top end of the lake in shallow water around lily pads, I was throwing a spro bronze eye frog. Had one take it, a nice fat 16.5 incher, then that was it for the top waters. The day turned out pretty good, I ended up with 11 largemouth and one perch. The rest on crankbaits. Bruce didn't fair so well, he only got one. Not sure what he was doing wrong? They have a machine up here Scott that will cut the weeds , load them on the boat and then load them in a dump truck to remove else where. They come right back next year. Are they harvesting them like that or KILLING them with chemicals ??? WTG Howard nice load of fish !!!! scotteph wrote: Today we went up to Pinchot Lake. Ed, the sign I read said about some biological attack, not sure if they used poison or not? But they did put some king of bugs in there that I guess are supposed to eat or kill the milfoil. Pretty nasty looking buggers from the pictures. There were certain areas of the lake they didn't want you to boat or fish in. They used to have a boat there also that cut the weeds but I didn't see it anywhere this time?. I'll do a search and see if I can find any more info? http://fwcb.cfans.umn.edu/research/...eevil.htmlDo a search on the weevil, this is the bugs they put in the lake. Sorry, I forget how to make a link live, if anyone can help it would be appericiated! Southeast PA LM '99 |

Scott, when you type a web addy into your web browser or click onto one of your "favorites" or are just browsing the internet and you find something (or place) that you want to include in your post, just right click on the web addy, select copy and then paste to your post. It will come up as an active link...I hope this helps ya out bro! Starting today and lasting until Monday morning, I will be involved in my family reunion. It has been several years since the Doutt family has been together at the same time and place...lol! Soooo, I doubt if I will be doing any fishing. Gonna roast a pig on Saturday! The new straps and motor bonnet for the "Bushwacker's" cover are complete and she is ready to go back out on the water. This will also make her ready for travel to meets and long trips... I have two meets yet this year and I hope I will be able to attend everything I have planned for next year (that will depend a lot on Karen's health). I received an email from Walleye Wayne yesterday. He says hi to all and wants you to know that all is well with he and his family. Wayne has changed jobs this year and says he loves his new responsibilities. His son Brett is being encouraged to try out for a full sports scollorship (sp) at a US college. He also said that his wife is pissed because the temp. has not gotten above 75* all summer and snow is only a month away! LOL! For those of you that aren't familar with Wayne; he was a very big presence on this BB for many years and he and his son have been very active in baseball. Oh ya, they live in Canada, and I promised him I would not hold that against him! He looks forward to when he can meet up with the many friends that he has on this site! This morning me and Bruce went down to the Conowingo for a couple hours. We started off in the weeds throwing frogs. I landed one and had a couple take it under but never hooked up. Also had a couple blow ups that missed. Bruce had a few blow ups also but didn't get a hook in anything. Then we threw crankbaits and spinnerbaits for a little while but nothing wanted to play so we called it an early day.

Just getting lucky Kinger! Not so much today. Me and Matt fished Sweet Arrow this morning. It was nice and foggy, we went down to the shallow end in the lily pads. The first three sets of pads I threw in I had blow ups but no hook ups on my frog, then nothing at all after that would touch it. Matt threw a couple diffferent baits while I was frogging but setteled in with a senko. He caught the first one of the day, then the second so I switched to a power worm. (I'm no dummy) I caught two, then he caught two more. Then we moved to another part of the lake but nothing was hitting there, about the same time the fog burned off so we got out of there. A total of 6, the largest being probably 2.5-3 lb. Was a great day since I got to fish with my longest time friend who I don't get the chance to get out with too often. Southeast PA LM '99 |

Today me and Bruce went down to the Octoraro. It was a good day out there, we were catching them left and right. Caught them on all sorts of baits, most of mine came on a jig & pig and spinnerbait. Bruce got the big one for the day on a buzzbait, 5lbs. Most of the fish were nice, very few dinks. Didn't take pictures of most but took a couple of a few nicer ones. Southeast PA LM '99 |

Southeast PA LM '99 Welp, I guess it be fessin' up time ...That fish in the net will not be swiming with anything any more! Scott and I found it floating belly up just inside "Beer Belly Bay". I only hooked one fish, a smallie, and it thru the hook at the boat when it decided to go airborne! Although Scott and I have not done so well at this meet, we are still improving! We had them thinking though Pete. I'm just surprised no one questioned it more knowing the luck we have when we're together. I read a fishing report from Raystown after I got home. It sounds like we might have been trolling the right depth. The report said.... Lake Trout were moving up from 50+ feet to around 30 & hitting spoons and in-line spinners. Stripers were in transition and switching from a night to daytime feeding pattern. It goes on to say the biggest fish are typically caught after the lake turns over in the middle of fall. I was hoping that we were trolling the correct depth. I think Ed was closer to it than we were. The deepest I was running was 26'. But I thought we covered many of the right places. I am going to try my down riggers next year. They may be manual but I got to start sometime! We did try some spoons, but perhaps they were not the pattern that they wanted...I'll have to check with Ed about possibilities. Concerning the fish we caught, ya I am suprised that no one caught on! Sorry Art, but I will give that jig a workout this fall (hopefully) and next year. Each time we go we learn a little more about fishing that lake! LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

I told Carol that fish looked DEAD , I also posted that Carols fish looked like it weight more than that eye. I didn't want to be TOO ........well how do you put it.........anyway ............... Pete you lost your creditability with me. I'll be waiting to see what you two have to say on that thread. At least Scott was honest when he said it felt like dead weight. |

No fishing today (Saturday) for me. High winds and rain all day...Lanny wants me to go out with him to the Marsh on Sunday, but I had to decline. My leg still isn't good enough for me to enjoy myself...I hope this soon clears up as I would like to get out for the late fall bite. I guess I'll just settle in to tying up some walleye jigs...Maybe paint up some more spoons. Perhaps I'll thaw out some fish and make them ready for the smoker...Ya'll have a grape weekend! No fishing for me this weekend...The church bazaar is Saturday and the only way I can help is by doing some kind of sit-down job...I can't stand for more than 10 min. at a time. I still can't get in or out of a boat so Sunday will be out also. I see the doctor today and schedule two MRIs, one for the back and one for my left knee (the good one). For those of you that manage to get out this weekend, good luck! Scott, I guess your kinda stuck with your vehicle being out of commission? Keep me posted on when you work something out with Ed for turkey hunting. I would enjoy the drive up and I can find something to do while you hunt! LM since 2005 Bushwacker Deputy Sherif

Will do Pete. I gotta go get one more estimate today on the car then decide what to do. I'm hoping if all works out I will have it fixed by not this weekend but the following? If thats the case I will find out for sure if I have a vacation day or not and if I do I will use it for a Thursday night so I can head up to Eds on a Friday. I will have to see what dates suit Ed before any plans are made. I also gotta check to see how long the season is open! Southeast PA LM '99 |

Was out yesterday in da boat for Brownies at Harveys Lake and we
trolled around with
in-line planer boards and flat lined. We used spoons and jointed rapalas
and the spoons did most of the action and da main color was
yellow/orange and the little Cleo had the most action in 1/4oz size. We
lost 4 on the
way in, dam things were jumping like Rainbows, and had 5 other bites.
None were boated. We would of liked to had a few for da smoker. Better
luck next time I guess. ___

We hit Blue Marsh for a few hours yesterday morning. Caught two smallies on hard jerkbaits and one largemouth on a spinnerbait. One smallie was nice. Bruce didn't fair so well. Didn't get into the hybrids. Tried to bring a pic from my files but was too large. Don't care anymore, this ain't worth the effort! LM 99' SE PA |

Nice pics RT13! Me and Bruce hit the Octoraro today. I caught I think 5 on a jig and plastic. Largest being around 17in. Bruce caught three or four, one on a rattle trap the rest on a chatterbait. Nothing real big today but was good to get out! Boy did it got hot out!

First time on the water for 2010 went late about 12:00 noon spent the about a hour dropping downrigger down and bringing them back up getting the wire tight. I put two I bought over the winter and tore down one of them and one of my old one so the wire was loose. About 1:30 pm I had two lines in the water running SD ( that I had yet to get a fish on) with BW vib fly on one and a new fly ( forgot name) on other rig both downrigger. Ran them up tight the vib fly I tied as long as I could with the other at 22". I had two hits on the vib fly and landed two lakers 25.5" 5#6oz and 28" 5#10oz. Every thing was fine but the one new rigger ( Cannon Mag 10A) to get it to come up I had to hold the switch same as when it went down. Being I tore this rigger all apart could it be the wiring ??? Or just the switch gone bad ?? Best depth from 100' to 120' down 100' back 5' speed was 2.5 or better on the GPS , guess that's the key for these spinny's

Hey all.... been a few more times mainly for trout.... the bite w/ the rebels has slowed a little.... the trout seem to like slower moving lures now.... beet throwing trout magnets and other small jigs and fishing them through the riffles like you would bait.... if we are using bait they a loving the little red worms more than anything right now I have been out for stripers a few times but not too much is going on.... made my way up to trenton and fished the jersey side.... got two herring and then a 26" striper felt good to finally get one i will probably head out tomorrow, i'm thinking about hitting the skuke right below the art museum see if i can't pick up some stripers and shad.... good luck to everyone fishing this weekend |

Today Bruce and I went down to Blue Marsh. Fishing was good, I was catching them on jigs, spinnerbaits, and rattle baits. Didn't keep count of how many I caught, also lost a couple smallies when they went airborn. Also caught a walleye on a spinnerbait, second time that happened to me down there. All in all a good day! |

I didn't fish this weekend. Busy gettin' the yard & house ready for an "open house" on Sunday. My spare time is spent working on my journal for the Ohio Meet. Hopefully I get a line wet durning the week, this week. |

My son-in-law, Lanny and I were fishing at Blue Marsh Friday evening and this is some of what we caught...

This last one was a doosie! It is the largest crappie I have ever caught (including Canada)! We didn't have a tape measure or a scale (I was in son-in-laws boat ), but we did have a camera...

We needed a net to get him in the boat! If you look closely you will see the lure in it's mouth. It is a Rebel Deep Crank R. It has a rattle in it and considering how cloudy the water was that is probably what got the fishes attention! As far as I know this lure isn't made any more! |

I went fishing with my son, Brian on Saturday. We went on the Susky, below Long Level. We drifted down the western shoreline, working the 10' to 15' depths and throwing our lures parallel to the shoreline. I managed to catch a 20" catfish but Brian had the skunk in his pocket that day ...When we got close to the Safe Harbor Dam we shot across lake Clark, directly at the last coal shoot. I was suprised at how shallow it was (3' - 4')! Many years ago it used to be good trolling along that shoreline for SMB. We worked the shoreline northward and we did manage to run into deeper water where I was marking fish all over...The water temp on both shorelines was 85* that day...
I think Brian and I will start to explore the western half of this river as it is deep enough for trolling and noted for walleye. October used to be an excellent month to fish this river...The attendant at the boat ramp said that we were one of the few to report a catch for the day. No one is catching SMB below the rocks, but my neighbor is having some success with SMB working a jig and white twin tailed twisty while drifting over the rocks...He uses a flat bottom boat with a jet propulsion system (outboard). |

This past Friday evening Lanny and I headed for Blue Marsh. We caught several fish including walleye, sunnies and LMB. This first pic is of the LMB that Lanny caught, just at dusk...

The lure Lanny was using is a "fat free shad", and we were fishing in about 6' of water. We have a couple of more pics to post as soon as Lanny sends them to me! I gave my small double cowgirl a work out but no takers this night! |

We put in at Pequea boat launch on Fri and fished below Safe Harbor Dam. We got nothing in the boils. Then we went over to the rock islands and we started to catch smallies and cats. The Smallies where 8" to 12"and where healthy fish. The Cats where 2 to 4 lbs and where healthy also. This is a good sign that there are healthy fish in the "Susky". I know up north around H'Burg they say the bass are sickly. I wonder if it is just a local thing? Later,PA |

A friend and i went to blue marsh lake and we fished from the bank.It was not looking very good for the boat so we left it at home.We were never at this lake before but it looks promising.we plan on taking the boat next time.Oh i caught the only fish which was a small mouth 8"-9" in between thunder storms. We got drenched running back to my truck. All in all it was a fun afternoon. |

This is the other pic from Friday fishing at the marsh...I caught this booger on the second cast with my Rapala glass shadrap...

This has been a very productive year for me at the marsh. Now I need to focus on my trolling... |

No, but the species is the same. The largest walleye I ever caught was 7# and I caught it at the Marsh! |

I was going to fish with Lanny tomorrow but I have decided to stay at home...I will be in Luzern Sunday to have a meet & eat with Howard & Ed. This may be the last time Howard can get together with us because of his move to South Carolyna. This is the first I have been able to access the site in over a week. |

Thanks, Frank! But alas, I didn't need the camera...We fished all day and the only thing put in the boat was the skunk! It was sunny most of the day, turning cloudy in the afternoon. High temp for the day was 59 and there was a slight breeze...Oh well, there will be another day! |

On the 20th of Feb, my partner and i done did it again and won the ice tourney in the panfish division once more. No bass were turned in this year, so all that money was kept by the fire co. We be $300 richer. No pics were taken this year. We had to work our ass off just to turn in 3lbs. 2nd place was won with 1.58lbs. |

Hi all! It's been awhile since my last post on the site. I just got the boat ready for it's first outing of the year. I have to replace one of the batteries but that is no big deal. I just have to decide where to take it! |

Good luck with the boat Joe and Trout Fishing and that's great news about you're doing better. My son finally got his Hunters Safety Course Card from Harrisburg. He couldn't find his so he had to send for a replacemebnt. Now he can get his hunting/fishing combo 3 year license and now as soon as we get back from Universal Studio in Florida on Friday, which we are leaving tomorrow to head down to my oldest sons house and then on Wednesday we go to Universal Studio, we will have the boat on the water. |

My son Shaun & I got the boat out and on the water today at Lake Moultrie. We could not fish the main lake due to the wind, so we fished the canal and caught 2 large channel cats, while fishing for crappie with small shiners and they were caught with 6lb main line with 4lb leader line, 3 real nice crappie, 2 large and 3 small perch. We watched a male and female eagle perched in a tree not far from us, saw 3 large gators swimming around and i couldn't believe my eyes at seeing over a 100 or so commorants together and that to me is a real bad thing. They can destroy a great fishery. My son took pics with his phone and as soon as i can i can post a few pics. |

I've been getting out but not fishing too long. If I'm lucky I'll fish for an hour before I go home. I wanted to get the boat out today but I don't see that happening now. They are calling for rain tomorrow so I don't think I'll go. |
