I didn't get any replies in the Life Member section, so I'll try here...

I'm planning a trip to Lakes Marion and Moultrie for the last week of April, and could use a few pointers... where to stay, what species to target at that time of year, what baits & presentations to use?  This will be my family's vacation, consisting of myself, my wife and my 10-yr old son.  We are especially interested in the catfish, but need to find enough action to keep it interesting.

I am considering a cabin for the week at one of the fish camps (any recommendations?) and will be bringing my Tracker ProCrappie 165.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

We've always been happy staying at Rocks Pond and one big plus is it is a little sheltered from the wind. Most of my cats have been caught on white perch and anything in the sunfish family. Red worms will catch just about all the bait fish you will need if you find the perch.

Thanks for the info, Riverrat. We are really looking forward to this trip. Have you heard anything about the Carolina King cabins on the north side of Lake Marion? We've booked a cabin for the week there.
