Do you 2 like TN?If so maybe it's the city you're in.I'm from the Mc minnville area and it's the lousiest I've seen. There's this state park,I don't know if you've heard of it,Rock Island state park the waters have been low there for awhile now and now they are saying they will stay low and not return to normal for 7-10 years and that's a ripoff when you purchase fishing license and there's not much to fish for in this town in this first place.I plan to relocate out of TN.I'm tired of TN.They don't know how to improve anything ,maybe in the knoxville area where yall are or the bigger cities, but not this city. This city is the lousiest. Not much is biting and the town is drying out.I hate this town and the state for doing nothing about it.All they tell you when you complain is nothing can be done and not to call.If they don't want people calling then they need to fix the town, otherwise it might get so bad that it leads to disaster when there's hardly any residents in this town.Mc Minnville is the worst city if you live in TN!!!

Dude you need to Move if you hate McMinnville that much , I like to salt water fish but nearest place is 6 hours from here ( Knoxville ) . I just got back from visiting Family on Long Island , 4 day visit 2 days fishing and sun poisoning and a mess of Sea Bass in my freezer. Gulf Shore later this summer/fall . This weekend it will be Bass or Pan Fish in the Fort Loudon during the late afternoon early evening. Hookem Up,

DUDE!I already said I plan to move!I hate mc minnville. You come here if you think it's possible to catch anything.Everyone here is saying they can't catch anything because the waters are so lousy but yet the state does nothing to fix them.Mc minnville needs worked on by the state, but do they care,NO!!This is the worst city to come to!!!

Maryville here! Born and raised here. Love it just because of it being centrally located for short drives to several different lakes.

Hey Maryville, Our friend from McMinnville only has a driving distance problem. Isn't that lake by him, Center Hill Lake, the one that had the leaky earthen Dam or am I mistaken. If so, the Army Corp of Engineers was talking really long term repair that was sped up by the drought. Oh well , I had to relearn fishing when I moved to Knoxville from Long Island. Salt water fishing is almost all with bait and has heavy size limits Summer Flounder season ( thats new) 21" minimum size, Sea Bass 16" and Tautog (Black Fish) now have a season and size limit. Like I said , I had to relearn, I was throwing back good sized Blue gill and Crappie looking for the adult full size fish. Little did I know. Have a great weekend . Hookem Up.

Whopper you're the one with the distance problem!!Don't describe me as that!Center Hill is alittle close, but not close enough and why waste the money to travel when it's supposed to be good local fishing too.Mc minnville is a poor town.I will be locating elsewhere and if you think you could handle this town you move here. The waters in this town are lousy, nothing bites.

I think I may have confused you guys, I'm from Maryville, TN. Pretty close to Fort Loudon, Chilhowee, Fontana, Santeelah and the list goes on and on. Tough fishing on some of them like Chilhowee because the water is so clear, 20+ feet visability at times. But just like we've all said, a bad day fishing beats a good day at work.

I'm sure it is good there. It's probably good anywhere's besides mc minnville in TN.Mc minnville is the worst city in TN.The waters in this town are in poor condition and at one point they said if you ate fish you could be poisoned.Who is gonna deal with that when they pay for fishing license.I don't like TN for it because they can improve stuff, but they are too stubborn. They don't wanna hear anything you tell them, nor do they fix what's wrong with this town.I guess you could say Mc minnville is like a dump, not very many fishing holes and what is here is either drying out or too poisonous too consume.I plan to leave the state because they could improve the city here, but they don't.Of course bigger cities are usually better in any state, but for TN to let these waters just dry out and be poisonous that's just a rip off when you pay for fishing license.

At least I know there are brights spots to go to,not the whole US is corrupted, just this town.Good luck to you chilly70!

I live in Dandridge near Douglas and Cherokee.  I've only been in the house for a week so I haven't gotten to the lakes yet.  I did a temp stay near Loudon and fished it a ton.  Nice lake.
