   Both of you need to find out the correct story  ........The soaniaeds was the people that miss interpet the word wrong   their was never a tribe of indians named TEJAS the Caddo indians 1st told the spainrds  which does mean friends they are the ones who got it wrong ....If all the people around here are that way  then you can stick the friendship where the sun doesn't shine I don't need them   The early TEXANS spelled it like this TEXXAS & we became lazy & dropped 1 of the X's .....

   I don't really care if you know where I live ,,,But I will say this I can do without some of the people that claim they are my friends  cause the only friend I had I buried om 1999 & I don't want any more  

Thanks for the response, Aubrey. It seems that you are not out to make friends, and I pitty you for that. Sorry to see and hear that you are bitter, for whatever reason. But rest asure, eventhough I don't agree with some things you are saying, but I fight to the death to defend your right to do so.

KAI.......Sorry for misunderstanding you on this subject ,,,but most people that was not grown up here where under the impression that their was a tribe of indians named TEJAS & that is where they get the idea where the name of this GREAT state can from ...I guess you can put the blame all back on the Spanish for they was the 1st to miss use the word TEJAS {whish does mean Friend}the word is pronouned {TE-HAS} cause their are no J,s in the spanish vocaluary

I am sorry that you took the last post I entered here wrong.....I to lost a nation but my was to the westward expansion of the white people  you see i'm also of indian descent my people was forced to march from Georgia west to the indian nation {OKLAHOMA}& the march was called "the trail of tears"The soldiers that was moving us was ordered to by the "GREAT WHITE FATHER "in WAshington
