Hey whats up, I was wondering if anybody from the Austin area knows of some good spots to bank fish. I've to the Mansfield Damn Park a few times and the other side of the damn and Brushy Creek. If anyone knows of any good spots, holla.

    Thanks,
    Jordan

I just did some checking on the Perdenales Rvr. I've not been out there in a long time, (Years). I was checking T.P.W.D. web-site. Got some info. on Onion Creek, specifically McKinney Falls St.-Prk. (Onion Creek). They've got great shore, pier, bank fishing there. It's in Travis Co. So. of Austin w/in city limits. 13 miles south of State Capital. Here's the contact info. for McKinney Falls S.P. Phn.# 512-243-1643 Located @ 5808 McKinney Falls Prkwy. Austin, Tx. 78744. Since it's a State Park you "DO NOT" need a fishing lic. to fish fr. shore, pier, bank inside park grounds. (if in a boat you need fishing-lic.) **Bag Limits do Apply regardless if fr. shore, boat. BTW; here's the T.P.W.D. Web-Addy; www.tpwd.state.tx.us when you get to home page look to the top right corner for Search box, type in Onion Creek Austin, Tx. then click search, this should bring up Onion Creek info. T.P.W.D. Phn.# 1-800-792-1112 for more info. Park Reservations phn. # 512-389-8900. Hope this is helpful to you, until next time "Take Care", L8r. James,"VATO LOCO"<;({})><

Before we moved back to Houston, one of my sons and I used to fish on the Colorado river right there in Austin.  Caught 3 kinds of bass, almost every brim you can think of plus a few catfish.  We rarely had a tough day and we still talk about it alot.

    Hope that helps.

    Retired Navy and loving it!
