Anyone familiar with Blue lake located just south of wendover? Supposedly has Talapia illegally stocked. I would like to go down and catch a mess of them and was wondering if anyone in the club has been out there and could recomend tactics? Also what other fish might I expect to find and how easy is the area to access?

    Thanks

    Brian

There are bass and bluegill in there as well. The water is fed by hot springs so the temp is warm year round. Try beetles, dough balls, small jigs for the fish. Also heard that frozen peas would work too. Easy to get there as well. Never been there but would like to go. Also if you go when it is warm take bug spray. Lots of bugs. Better times to avoid bugs is early spring late late fall.

Thanks for the info albinotrout. You don't hear to much about blue lake. However I just seen a bit on the news last week but it was about scuba. I guess the best way to get there is to go to wendover then take the road towards Ely?

Yeah that is the best way to get to it. It is a popular spot for scuba divers so watch for their flags.
