I live in roanoke and im looking for a new fishing buddy i mostly fish the roanoke river because i dont have a car ,and its close to me so i can walk to my fishing hole right off the greenway.  i always have good luck there but  i dont keep em ,i catch and release i wouldnt eat anything comming out that river but the fishing is great the biggest fish ive pulled out so far is a 50 pound carp, ive also pulled out some pretty nice small mouths 17 to 20 inches and a few nice cats.  I mostly use night crawlers, chiken livers just bring in the big snapping turttles I cought the same one three time on liver he just wouldnt give up
