I don't know if I will be a chosen one for this Field Test, but with 3 weeks until the start of it, I need to make this post. There is a website that is doing a fishing contest for bass, the longest bass. If I'm selected to do this Field Test, I will need someone to help me. If I win this contest, I will share the prize with whomever helps me. The longest bass is measured by photograph. The website has some technological ways of measuring the length of a fish by some ways that I don't know. I have a digital camera and a 35mm SLR and I will use both to send to the website. I will provide a tape measure beside the fish I photograph. I don't care if it's my catch or your catch, either or both will be submitted. So, let's go catch the longest bass!
If I'm not a chosen one to do this Field Test, well then I might find a fishing partner.
I'm woodyevans@hotmail.com   I live in Tacoma, WA   I don't have a vehicle, that's why I need the help. I don't know if I could win, but I'd like to try. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained. At least for a week, whomever helps me will get to do some bass fishing with the chance of a cash payout. Want to know more about me or what I bring to this, e-mail me. I promise nothing, except a share of any winnings, 2 people going fishing, having some fun win or lose, and enjoying the day's fishing.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working.

I now know that no one in the Tacoma Pierce County area of Washinton that is a NAFC Member is going to be a fishing partner of mine. So be it!

Sorry there WoodStock. If I was a little closer, I would be more than happy to do so and fish and meet you. Heck, i wish someone would meet with me tomorrow for an early morning fish on the Samish river.

    Hey Woodstock,
I didn't read your post until tonight so obviously I'm too late. I wouldn't mind going fishing with you sometime though. I live in Port Orchard so it might be a bit difficult to arrange but we can keep it in mind...
I'm not too sure you'd want me to go with you for a bass tourny- I've never caught a bass and don't know how- yet. I'm still learning and trying. I'll never give up!
Good luck how ever you go!

    Thanks, salmonking
I found the Samish River on my Topo USA, you are way north of me. I might have been able to get there by bus or Sounder or both, or Amtrak. I could have gone fishing with you if I had a day to get there, planned on spending a night there, gone fishing with you, spent the night there, and come home the next day. I have camping gear for doing something like that, but I would have needed more time to make all plans.
    Thanks, prober
You are closer than salmonking, but that would have been a trip to make to go bass fishing with someone that is as inexperienced as I am at bass fishing, and be successful in the tourny field test. I would have had to do the same thing, except in a slightly different direction.
Of course, I'd have needed to know about bass fishing in either area.
I had hoped a fishing buddy would help me with this, but his car's engine broke down at the end of last month, and my NAFC Life Member friend had surgery on a knee last month.
The website I would have been field testing was bountyfishing.com. They have a fishing tourney every week. I haven't found what it costs to join or what, but I didn't get to field test them so I haven't tried to find out what they are and do. It's up to anyone if they look them up and fish their tourney.
The NAFC Field Test of bountyfishing.com ended for me last Sunday.
