Im a life long fisherman of Spanaway Wa. , anymore fishermen around the Tacoma area. Whats the hot news on Salmon and steelhead? I havent been out for a few weeks now.My sled is just sittin here in the driveway. Last run was down at the Cowlitz a few weeks ago and got skunked, the water was still a bit muddy from the flood rains but it was fishable.

Hi this is my first post here, so here it goes.  The Kalama has cleared and I C&R 2 Native Meatalheads last week in the canyon by the 'red barn' in the morning  while waiting on the tide change on the Columbia  for Sturgeon. I was using sand shrimp under a float. I have not heard anything about Springers yet but I'm champing at the bit in anticipation.

The chehalis and skookumchuk are both chocolate milk. The wynoochee is low and clear but no fish to be had yet. the mouth of the Satsop is OK for cut's. The A-run hatchery fish should arrive any day now hopefully.

    UPDATE:......

Thismorning I saw a large bait ball (school) of smelt in the Cowlitz in Kelso by the Allen St. bridge. So I'm hoping by this weekend (Saturday) they should be up river past Castle Rock. The first run of Springers should follow them up. and where there are smelt there are STURGEON!
