I'll be on a private boat for a week in the San Juan Islands in late July and early August and was wondering what type of fishing is available at that time of the summer?  Is trolling or bottom fishing better and what types of lures and bait work best?

I use to fish in the San Juan's all the time but gave up saltwater all together. Anyway that time of year the Silver's should be in try trolling aroung Eagle Point on the south end of San Juan Island. With the regs the way they are bottom fishing sucks in the islands now, only 1 fish per day. Not worth the effort.
