Yep, it's opening day here in Washington for the lowland lakes and I'm staying off them! I'll wait until things have calmed down a bit. The local paper said the other day, "300,00 anglers" to take to the water this weekend. I don't need that kind of fun!
See ya out there another day!

No guts, no glory there Prober, lol.
But I hear what you are saying.
We have a put and take lake down the road and it gets packed the first couple of weeks then it turns into the dead sea.

I love fishing. I mean I love it. But not enough to contend with hundreds of other people on the lake! I am with Prober. I'll wait until things settle down a bit before my Dad and I hit the trout lakes. I fish for the fun and solitude of it. But it's not fun or solitary when some moron parks his boat 100 feet from yours and casts into your waters and you can hear everything they are saying on their boat and vice versa! Forget that!

I am with you too Capt. I have never fished the lake opening.
I wait untill I can find a place to park my rig so I don't get a ticket or have to walk a mile.

I'll tell you guys, it was pretty hard to stay home yesterday even with the probable crowds. The sun was out and it was beautiful. The chores around the house weren't helping my fishin' fever either!!

Yeah opening day was crazy as usual. I dont have my boat quite ready so I opted for some shore fishing at my favorite hole called Swofford Pond. No crowds and everyone I talked to had their limits. Its all about picking the right fishing hole on opening weekend. Lake Mayfield and Alder werent that bad in the spots I go to either. I tend to go off the beatin paths tho and fish spots only locals know. I checked out Clear Lake (Pierce County), Tanwax, Silver and Ohop lakes as well just to see the crowds but I didnt fish there. I was at Alder Saturday and Sofford Sunday. Monday was baked succulent trout. It has begun gentlemen. See ya on the water!
